Ugh, I must've gone to Mega Web on the absolute worst day. The day I went the Toyota City Showcase area was closed so I got to see nothing in that area. No RX-78-2 back then either. I did see the stuff from the History Garage though, lots of good stuff there.

Japan is an expensive trip, and there's so much cool stuff to see there. But a room full of 86's - most of which I recognize... no way you could pass on that!

Thanks for the pics! and a cool post dude! :D

Is it easy to buy trd parts there? How does the pricing compare to the stuff we have here? Thanks!!

I don't have much experience with buying too many parts there. Car shops are actually very scarce, especially in Tokyo. The TRD stuff I bought was off the shelf at Super Autobacs in Yokohama. Unfortunately, their selection for the GT86 was very disappointing, so I didn't get to buy much. My friend went to the Super Autobacs in Tokyo Bay on his own time, and the selection looked SO much better!

As for the pricing, most of the stuff is definately cheaper - but that's because you don't hafta pay importation fees and such. i.e. TRD sound changer is about $40 here? I paid a little over $30 (3000yen) for mine. You're also limited to what you can fit in your luggage =(

I'll post pics when I go on my lunch.

Here's some pics I stole from my friends FB.. It's the selection of 86 parts at the Shininome location (Tokyo bay). I didn't bother taking any pictures of the selection at the Yokohama location.

We absolutely need a resale store in America...Like a Gamestop for car parts...Trade your used parts in for credit towards new or other used parts. Who wants to start a business with me?..lol

Ah great stuff. Last time I went to MegaWeb, there was one plain 86 on display, but this was 2 years ago.

You dun goofed OP, I bought so many car mags at that megaweb store over there, place is a gold mine. Think I bought a couple 86 mags alone.

Japan, I miss it.

I was there last year! You went on the right day with all those 86 demo cars there! The Tokyo bay Superautobacs has the best selection for 86s. Although the Japanese are more order oriented than off the shelf retail. If you want specific parts for your car, just go to any area86 and order what you want. It arrives in a day or two. So if anyone is going to japan and want to buy specific parts just plan in advance and visit an area86.
