Questions regarding dealer added lower area foglight LED strip lights

So I am interested in a 2014 FRS one of the few left in the immediate area in the whiteout. The only thing I do not like or want is this dealer installed lower LED strip lights where the fog lights should be. I am not a fan and was wondering has anyone who also purchased a FRS with these LED strip lights removed them or added fog lights?

How easy are they to uninstall? Are they spliced in so it would cause complication to remove? or would it be better to install foglights?

Thanks in advance.

Quick bump. Anyone have any experience with removing these dealer installed led daytime running lights? It would be appreciated.

Just pull the wiring harness on the back of them. hopefully it's that easy. Also if you don't want them to be seen at all im sure you could post in the classifieds to swap with someones non LED bezels

I just swapped mine out with another member so i could make oil cooler vents. Just unplug it.

Thanks for the reply, if I could pick your brain for a moment where are they plugged into and would unplugging them and removing the led strip vent make for a clean and complete uninstall?, same as it would have come OEM?

There is a plug on the back of the led. Removing them will leave an led shaped hole in your fake vent. I pulled the whole vent out and swapped with another member.

I think my question was poorly worded. I get that you would need to replace it with a new factory vent. I wanted to remove everything even the wiring involved with the install of the led kit. And was not sure how involved that was. Thanks for the info though

There's is a harness that runs up the driverside fender and enters the firewall by the brake booster. There is a control box near thw drivers left knee. Its black and is mounted near the fuse box. Its plugged in to what I think is the headlight circuit since it has to dim them when the headlights are on as per DOT restrictions. Everything is a simple quick release connector and is easily removed. I unpluged and removed everything in just a few minutes except the wiring routed through the engine compartment from the led to the control box. That I did at a later date just out of convenience and bad timing.
