Gap under passenger headlight

I've had the car for about 5 months now, and I don't know how I never noticed this gap, or maybe its just appeared, but I don't know how it could have.

Hear is looking down over the passenger headlight, notice the huge gap between the bumper and headlight,

Here is looking down over the driver headlight, notice that there is no gap and the "end " of the bumper is tucked under the headlight revealing no edge.

Now that I have noticed it its driving me crazy, I've seen shitty aftermarket body kits with smaller gaps, Is this something the dealer would address, or tell me to suck it up?

Thanks guy

There was a TSB for improper fitting body panels but I don't think this was covered. This is typical if you've removed your front bumper. There are some members who have tried replacing the clips that hold the bumper on with limited success in fixing the gap. Mine looks just like yours except on the driver's side.

I had the exact problem after I got my bumper repainted, from what I heard, they said one of the clips was bent the wrong way and was a fairly easy fix. That said, after they re-installed the bumper it was perfect again

Hmm I've never had the bumper off but maybe I'll take a look at the clips

I had my front bumper repainted and it's the same. I'm taking it back to get refitted.

I just had this fixed at my dealer (June 16) for the exact same thing I think there's an issue with the passenger headlight brackets but they replaced them under warranty. Tbh I think there needs to be additional bracing needed in behind the lower bumper to alleviate the stress on the tiny plastic clips, because if you slightly pull up and out at the Lower corner the gap closes. My 0.2 cents

I had the same problem.

"Also found this gnarly gap in my bumper. lol, oh well. :iono:

Took my bumper off, and took my time realigning it, gave it a solid pop and in it went.

"And fixed the gap I found earlier."

Mine had that gap when I removed the bumper to paint my headlight housings. I had to re-position it and that fixed the "problem".

Yup this is fairly normal. Issue with the bumper fitment.

Sorry, it's all I was thinking while reading the thread...

You're right:
S-TT-0043-12 wasn't really a TSB it was just a warning to technicians and states that some vehicles may have body panels that aren't flush (either under- or over-flush) which are causing customers to complain. This tech tip doesn’t offer a fix, and merely states that Toyota is “looking into” the issue.

So basically you take it to the dealer, and they should mess with the front bumper clips till it fits properly hopefully.
