Spark plugs
Just wondering if anyone has done them? If so how big of a hassle was it?
|
I'm not close yet, but it would be nice to have a DIY. I know a couple people are close to the 60k mile mark.
|
Yeah exactly I'm not close...more curious than anything.
|
I've been asking this for a long time now...
Either way, the motor will have to be lifted/tilted. Talk about a major pita!!! Damn boxer engines smh... |

I figured I should be able to find them used pretty easily by then. What the hell, right? I'm there anyway. That's when I planned to add them as a tune Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A tune is really the bread and butter for these cars though. My car will be completely stock right down to the airbox until the day I go boost and do it all at once when it matters more. But yea, I can understand guys changing stuff out when things are already apart like when doing plugs. Makes sense to me to just keep my car stock though. Good luck. |
I remember reading posts saying that, with some extensions and angles, you can do it without jacking up the motor.
|
If the motor is lifted you can always change the motor mounts as well while you're in there.
|
I've had my plugs changed twice(I didn't do it myself).
Possible to do it without any jackstands, etc. As long as you have tiny hands and the right tools. Took my mechanic about an 45mins to do them this way. |
i spent about half hour on one side, then 15 minutes on the other once i got it figured out. all from up top, not jacking the motor up or anything. just wanted to check the plugs and close the gap a little since i upped the boost. its just getting the right extensions in there and it works pretty well.
