how wide can you go?

hey guys,im new to this forum and to the brz/frs life!!lol I will be lowering the car 1" with springs keeping stock strurts, I want to know what the widest rim/tire I can run with 18" raijins without rubbing? I want to go the same size on all 4 so I can rotate. thanks guys!!

Sadly, unless you run coilovers the 86 has backspacing issues up front and as a result a 8.5" is probably as wide as you can go. You can run a 9" +35 but depending on your alignment/camber settings you might need to run a thinner tire. Search for 17x9 +35 RPF1 and I'm sure you'll find appropriate tire sizing for the setup you're gonna run.

Like AutoRnD, you will be better off with the RPF1s he just mentioned. I was in your shoes once looking for the widest square setup around while also having enough clearance for BBK setup, and the 17x9 +35 RPF1 is your best best, unless you go custom, but with a similar size, and offset.

+1 for 17x9s

I'm lowered 1.4" right now running 18x9.5 +35 with 235 40 tires right now. Very slight stretch on the tire. 100% safe, no camber up front right now and only natural lowering camber in the rear. I have absolutely no rubbing issues whatsoever. I will be adding a tiny bit of camber up front just to reduce tire poke and to help cornering a bit. Lowered only 1" as you are, you could probably run any size you want. There will be tire poke though and if you plan to go lower in the future there will be rubbing issues. Hope this helps.

Well, not ANY size. But you get what I'm saying. There is a lot of possibility.

I want to mention that using camber bolts to add negative camber will effectively reduce backspacing/inner clearance so be mindful of that if you're already running tight tolerances.
