Silicone coupler or similar that is 4" I.D., and 1 inch Thick... (SOLVED)

Got what I needed, read the end of OP.....

I need HELP. I have a 4" turbo inlet. I need a very short filter to fit it. AFE has a 5" filter that would fit perfect. Because of this, I am looking for a silicone coupler of rubber hose or something I can put in the turbo flange, that is 1 inch in thickness and thus allows me to use that 5" filter on the mouth of my turbo...

Anyone have any ideas? I've searched and searched the net for it to no avail...

EDIT: Got exactly what I needed... Read below!

So incredible that I have had the answer right in my face all this weeks.....

The brand of my current turbo silicone couplers has the part I need EXACTLY....

eBay can't help? You need a reducer from the sounds of it. Or you can flare a short piece of piping.

I have a truck shop in the OKC area that sells all manner of couplers, clamps and such that I browse through when I'm in dire need. Otherwise, creative use of Google and/or eBay generally net what I'm looking for.

It's 3" long, but I don't think you'll find anything shorter.

I can't use a reducer. There is no space... It needs to be something that fits over the turbo mouth and that's it. Can't make it any longer or it will hit sandwich plate lines. That is why it needs to be 4" ID and 1" thick to simulate the turbo being 5" inlet. Added a pic to better explain the space constrains. That big filter is no longer there, as I needed to make room for Oil cooler hoses.

4" ID coolant hose might be thick enough.

Or you could have a piece machined and welded onto the turbo inlet.

Thinking about it, maybe the 4-5 inch silicone coupler might work, just need to cut it shorter.....

for the record if it was 4" ID and 1" thick your filter would need to be 6" ID to fit over it...

:P

and your missing an oil filter in your picture

Not really, filter would need to be 5.001" to fit. 4 in I.D. +1 in thick= 5 in O.D. you are adding 1 inch of diameter across the circle.

That's true... 1 inch thickness means 1 inch at each side so it would need to be 6".... I did find hose that are 4" and 4.5 OD....

Thanks!! Good luck with your project.
