Skoodges Whiteout (AT)FR-S

So I got the call today and was told to haul ass to the dealer to get to it. Sure enough when I got there (after 10 minutes of solid ass hauling) there was a huge crowd of people that had assembled. Luckily I had been to the dealer already and had my car appraised and was ahead of everyone else. So in the end I beat everyone to it, traded in my 2011 v6 Premium Mustang and took her home (after what seemed like hours). The initial test drive with the dealer rep was awesome, my family had done business with the salesman before he worked at this Toyota so we chose to work with him. It was his first week at Toyota, and thusly I was his first car ever sold, an FR-S even. The whole thing felt very cool and when I drove it off the lot it was memorable. It'd be nice to have gotten some of the swag the first 86's got but I'm not picky and I don't really mind. But for now, here's some low-res pics taken with my iPhone, later this week or early next I will hopefully have some nice pictures taken and a review written up. I will say that I am absolutely stunned by the performance of the car.[I found myself stunned when I was doing 80 on the interstate and didn't realize it because the car felt so sturdy and planted]

Congrats!

Soo many whiteouts lol!

How do you find the AT? Was your mustang auto too? If so, how do the transmissions feel?

Thanks and enjoy!

I love the AT! The mustang didn't have tiptronic or any kind of electronic shifting, other than the standard 1,2,3, so the tiptronic is awesome. One thing that was crucial for me was that it didn't lag. My sister drives a 2010 Lexus IS250 and the transmission lags so much in that! In the Lexus the lag between the time you press the paddle and the time it shifts is a little over half a second. The FR-S however is instantaneous, if there is any it's not noticeable to the human eye. Same with down shifting. Down or up the auto kicks as in the manual mode. (And in standard auto too) Compared to the stang's transmission it's completely Godly. The stang fails to compare to this car in any matter, power, suspension, etc. My mustang was running 45 hp over stock but I'm sure this card could almost take it head on, but then again it's not meant for straight aways.

Honestly after driving it I feel like performance mods will ruin its integrity / the spirit of the car. It just feels so perfect. I do plan on tinting the windows, of course, getting fog lights, putting in HID headlights, possibly replacing interior bulbs with an LED kit, and a shark fin antenna. Oh and a spoiler.

If you don't mind me asking, did you pay MSRP?

I have heard bad things about Florida dealers....

Well, I hope you didn't pay an absurd markup on it!

Enjoy it! Don't forget to give us all your impressions a week or two down the road!

Congrats on the new FR-S and welcome from another Florida owner. I pulled the same move and went from muscle to tuner. I had a 2011 Dodge Challenger SE V6. No regrets though I can tell you that much. Enjoy the ride and nice color option!

I like the pic next to the Tundra. I DD a Tundra now, and it's going to be a dramatic change.

Congrats !
Could you provide some key points review about the 86 ride over the muscle Mustang v6?

Sure I'd be happy to! I just have to find some time. Between finals, work, and driving the thing I've found myself very busy.

Congrats man. I have the same exact car pre-ordered. :happy0180:

Well it seems everyone is going with White. At any rate, it looks beautiful.
