Yes, plug and play but I need the gps module for the gps to work. I think that's an upgrade for this model.

Isn't there also something different about the antennae between an FR-S with and without navi in addition to the navi box?

Dunno the diff. Between the one with out navi & with navi. just have the basic deck (not touch screen ) that came in my car.
