Yes, ordered from them on multiple occasions. Same with many other people on this forum.

reliable and recommended retailer.

I've bought several items from japanparts.com - the prices have always been fantastic and significantly cheaper than what I've seen various other websites selling the same product for (even after including the international shipping charges).

I actually just placed another order with them two days ago. Yuki and the rest of the team there are always very polite and quick to respond to any questions you may have as well as inform you of any updates or issues with your order status.

Very reliable and a great site to purchase parts from!

one issue i had was an additional $33 import charge that fedex charged me directly because of customs fees. youd think that paying over $200 for s/h that that would be included in the cost. other than that, service was extremely fast.

You can never pay for customs duties up front, unless you are using a 3rd party broker and paying duties in advance.

Much like you going to the post office and sending an item overseas, you are not paying the post office duties and they are not collecting them. Same with UPS/FedEx.

Clearly stated on their site:
http://www.japanparts.com/faqs.htm

"PLEASE NOTE: IMPORTING TAX, DUTY, etc ARE NOT INCLUDED. You may have to pay it.
We do NOT know how much it will be. Please inquire about it at the Customs in your country."

Before hand I always like to check out www.thefinalcost.com/ which gives estimates on duty/fees into Canada. I am sure there is an American equivalent somewhere just to see if shipping from Japan is worth it compared to other alternatives.
