Highway accident. Failure to yield (other driver). Mother was driving (she's fine).

Estimate: $13,500
Totaled: Yes
Replacement Vehicle: 2015 Subaru WRX LTD 6MT

Wow, that's rough. Glad to hear everyone's safe. Any thought on your next car?

extrashaky 06-15-2014 11:40 AM

Sorry to see that. That's terrible.

Apparently stupid people cannot see black cars. My truck is black, and I have people pull out in front of it, pull over on top of it, run stop signs right in front of it and generally behave as though it's invisible. I even got rear-ended while sitting completely still at an intersection, and the stupid shit who hit me said, "I didn't see you there."

That's why I bought a red BRZ. My BRZ is half the size of the truck, yet I have nowhere near the problems. The down side is that the red car is more visible to cops also. Even so, my truck needs a paint job, and I think I'm going with red on it in the hope that another stupid shit doesn't hit it again.

Fixed. My sister's truck was a light brown. Crew cab, long bed, towing a 35 foot bright wight gooseneck horse trailer, with her horse in it. This idiot bitch pulled out and smacked into the side of the trailer. My sister would have killed that woman, except my mom was there to restrain her. Fortunately the trailer was steel, so it knocked a little rust off and everything was fine. The other car was trashed.

The lady's excuse to the cop? She didn't see it.

I'm glad you guys are ok. When I had my black 2002 Civic Si (USA EX) coupe, it was hit four times. All four times I was not at fault. Only two of which I bothered to file a claim. The car insurance was getting sketchy. One time there was 10,500 CAD in damage and they didn't total it :O

I haven't owned a black car since. My Mazda 6 was white, and now my BRZ is Red. People tend to notice you better.

Best of luck with your next car!

That's a shame OP

I'm glad you and your mom are ok though!

this hurts me:(

what rims are these?

Rampage 06-21-2014 10:47 PM

Man, I hate to see these cars getting wiped out all the time. They seem to do a good job of protecting the occupants though. Glad everyone is OK.

dizzario 06-22-2014 12:14 AM

I'll take the antenna and the fender vent garnishes.

...just kidding lol. If this was Zilvia no one would ask if you're okay. They'd make this a part-out thread hahahahahah.

My FRS is black and shorter than me...matter of time I suppose. :burnrubber:
