Freebies from the Dealership

So on the day I picked up my FR-S the sales guy pointed out a "defect" with the car. Seems that while it was still in raw steel someone dropped a hammer or big ol' wrench on the door sill. So there was a dent. You seriously have to be looking for it to see it, and the light has to be -just- right for it to show up in a photo:

So I took it over to the service department to see if they could fix it. Turns out that since it's in a bend in the sheet metal, they'd have to change out the entire fricking panel to fix it. Not worth it.

So they offered to compensate me for this horrible defect.

Sliding center console arm rest:

Clear bra on nose and first 18" or so of the hood:

I probably could have pushed for more (changing out the door sill panel would have cost a small fortune) but seriously, I feel like I'm stealing from them as it is, the defect is so small.

Props to Livermore Toyota.

I don't think you could say that you are the one stealing, they did give you & your car an "unfixable" issue...
I think they are the ones lucky that you don't mind the dent being there. But good on them though to offer you some extra's :)

What i am wondering though, i see the dent is on the lower part of the doorsill, is it visible when the door is closed?

Grtz

Barely, if you know where to look for it. The lighting has to be -just- right for it to show up.

Well, then i guess it's not that bad and after all, as long as it doesn't bother YOU, then there is no problem AND you got free goodies :D

Grtz

Would've pushed for a TRD exhaust instead of those two. I have the clear bra from my dealer as well and the half bra can get annoying because you'll see the line on the hood from time to time.. :(

Yeah, it's cool that you got free stuff, and sounds like it was the right deal for you for sure! I couldn't have lived with the dent. No way. But I'm a little OCD. :)

I might have asked for fog lights as well. Actually, I probably would've just asked for every option they offer, just because.

Also, did they not include the clear bra on the fenders? I got the factory clear bra for the hood & it also covers part of the front fenders.

I have a similar dent on my passenger front fender. You can only see it if you're looking for it and if the light is just right. I doubt mine is a defect though. Someone could've leaned on it. I've also always theorized that maybe someone punched it because it looks like knuckles. It was my first dent, but doesn't really bother me.

I've dented my car in a similar way from the wooden heel of my dress shoes. I can't count the number of time's I've whacked the side of the door trying to get in and out of the car.:bonk:

I'd rather get another one. They the dealer probably dropped a wrench on the door and blamed it on manufacture defect lol

Yep my guess would be heel of a shoe.
