COLD AIR INTAKE INSTALL AND SOUND TUBE / RESONATOR REMOVAL

6 Attachment(s)
So I completed the install of my new Cold Air Intake System and very happy with the results thus far! Also removed the Sound Tube running to the interior of the car and the Resonator. Still have the stock exhaust until my Berk system gets here but made the interior quieter without the sound tube. Makes a great induction sound at about 3,750 RPM on acceleration now and no codes popped up!!!Attachment 81986Attachment 81987Attachment 81988Attachment 81989Attachment 81990Attachment 81991

A copycat "injen" intake.

I hope you have some way of monitoring A/F ratios and a tuning solution...

Car runs great, going to tune after exhaust is on. If you go too far out of range for the ECU and AFM you will start popping codes...

looks like there's a probability of heat-soak. why not a fully enclosed intake box?

Stock intake location feeds right into this air box so don't think so; see pic 6...

It doesn't seal to the stock snorkel and there are holes in the top of the airbox. You are gaining air flow at the expense of higher intake temps.

Muaddib 06-15-2014 11:08 PM

That is more like warm air intake.

ATL BRZ 06-16-2014 12:10 AM

It bothers me more than it should when people call the Injen and this ripoff a "cold air intake"....

FRSpappa 06-16-2014 12:40 AM

The holes on top actually get covered when the hood is closed by the insulation on the underside of the hood. Have you ever looked at any HKS / Greedy air filter assemblies that have no boxes or shrouding directing any cold air into them? That's the way all the performance air filter assemblies were back in the day and how all the V8 stuff is presently. Your not getting that much heat soak unless your idling at a stop on a summer day for a long time; when your moving at speed air is entering through the front. And Injen stamped on the pipe isn't going to make this perform any better at three times the $$$

This a cold air intake. Get your money's worth.

$400 that involves taking off my front bumper to replace/clean my air filter is not the one for me but thanx...
