test drive available in Houston

if any of you Houstonians are looking for a test drive, Mike Calvert Toyota just received a whiteout FRS (automatic).

call ahead of time and schedule your test drive with Mathew from Scion department. he was very patient and not pushy. he said they are taking orders.

Awesome! Do you know if they have a long waiting list of orders?

There is also one available at Star Toyota (Raven in 6 spd manual) for test drives...at least earlier today it was (dealer called to let me know it was in while I was looking at another one.)

Is this the Chung Ying that autocrosses/tracks an NB miata? Hello again Chung...it's Paul
Vincent, the guy who autocrossed his Tacoma, tracked a '90 Integra RS, and who just purchased an FR-S (asphalt, 6spd - my first new car...) - been a loooong time since I've done any autocrossing or track time... I foresee track time in the near future though!

don't know about waiting list, but from talking to Mathew, the salesman, he seems to be able to get one pretty quick. but then again, i don't know how soon. guess this is not much of a help...

Paul, this is Chung. how have you been? haven't seen you a long~ time. hope to see you out there autocrossing/tracking your new toy soon! after 10 years with the miata, i'm feeling for a change. don't know what i'm gonna get though. i like brz a lot, but i'm not sure i like it $30k much. can easily get rx-8 below 20s, but they are too thirsty for a car with that level of performance. there seem to be so many choices, but i haven't found one fits what i need 100%. i muh have to make some compromises...

Test drive had me sold, and I've had mine since Friday and have put ~260miles on her. My thoughts on the FR-S =

Chung, I may Autocross her once I get her broken in, planned on going to MSR Houston as well...this car will be so much fun on track! Even at 30-40mph right now in town I'm having a blast - rotates insanely quick with really quick throttle response as well - quicker than the '90 RS Integra with racing flywheel and opened up intake/downturn exhaust! And that's all keeping it below 4k rpm for the break in period.

My test drive was....Legendary! The wait for the car has been worth it. Test drove a firestorm (dealer wants to wait till June 1st to do the sale) at don McGill. Everything about this car centers itself around the driver. From the user controls, to seating position, to the way the car responds. It's been a long time since I felt a car that was built by someone who cares about driving dynamics. Short of it.... It's an amazing car and I think this is the beginning of something wonderfull. Some of us should meet up when we get our hands on the cars
