phobos512's Ghost (Whiteout 2014 FR-S)

Got rid of the spare and associated tooling and ordered a Slime "Safety Spair" model # 70005. If it's good enough for my girlfriend's Hyundai and Tesla, as well as a pile of Amazon reviewers, it's good enough for me. Another 25ish lbs down.

And I added a Shorai charger kit to the trunk also just in case. Only weighs a lb and with the hard half of a Velcro strip it holds tight to the trunk lining (even to the trunk lid upside down).

Received a set of RallyArmour mud flaps and a Raceseng red anodized crank pulley for Christmas from my parents. Got the pulley on but I can't find my offset screwdriver to install the mud flaps, so I'll do those tomorrow after a trip to Lowe's. Here's a pic of the crank pulley anyway:

Got the mudflaps on! Also made a DIY for them since there wasn't one yet. And yeah, no more HRC sticker. Came off in a carwash a few weeks ago :( and haven't replaced it yet.

Hey folks, well I did receive my shift knob (Anarchy Motive Mammoth in Rough Red) and I wanted to share some pictures. Many folks, myself included, wondered how the colors compared to the stock interior red accents of the FR-S. So here are some pictures against the seats, stitching on the wheel and my Rally Armor mudflaps so that you can see a comparison. These were taken in the fading sunlight both with and without flash so that you can see the difference. They are all unretouched and were taken with a Verizon LG G3 running CyanogenMod 12 nightly for 06 JAN 2015 using the Google Camera app. I mention that they're unretouched for a reason - while they may show a tinge of color that doesn't make sense the important thing is the comparison between the knob and the thing I'm holding it against - not the absolute color. So keep that in mind. None of the things look at all magenta-ish in real life - it was a side effect of the phone and/or lighting. Enjoy!

Do you know how many people had asked Anarchy how well the rough red matches the other reds? A bunch. I took the pics for their benefit and posted in their GB threads. They appreciated it as did a number of other folks. I actually took a ton more pics in different lighting but I figured it was thorough enough.

:p

I'm an engineer; I can't help it.

So I'd been noticing a burning smell for a while. Found I had the ever popular cam plate oil leak. Checked two weeks ago when I was getting gas and the exhaust manifold was smoking. Keep in mind I'm naturally aspirated, 2014 w/2014 build date and about 8200 miles on the clock. So anyway I installed a Raceseng cam plate tonight. I'll take a pic of the plate in the light tomorrow. In the meantime, here's a pic of the stocker.

@Pure Automotive hooked me up today by installing the Swift Sport Mach BRZ springs P/N 4F912 on my ride in no time at all (yes, I intentionally went with the BRZ springs after I did some research).

The ride home was marvelous. Had hoped to get her washed before taking it up for the install but ran out of time, and there's a monster storm moving in for tonight and part of tomorrow so the wash will just have to wait. Here's a preview though:

The tires juuuuuuuust tuck with the @Corner3garage 20 & 25mm spacers I installed on Monday evening. Very happy with how things have turned out so far. We'll see how the springs settle over the next several days.
