Received my FR-S with a small ding

I picked up my FRS on Saturday and spent most of my day at the dealership. By the time I got to inspect the car it was already 8:30PM and I missed a small ding that was apparent only in bright light.

Just for anyone in the future who has an experience like this, I went, first, to the dealership, in which they called out a paintless dent guy to repair in 30 minutes. They paid for it all and were great to work with. NOW its perfect like new. The dealer did leave it out for 3 days where people could touch the dang car.

Moral of the story: INSPECT with the utmost attention. I got lucky in that Moss Bros Scion was nice to me, but technically I signed off on it as "perfect" new condition when I drop off.

....

I learned this lesson a long time ago with a used car. I never buy a car any longer unless it is in broad, and bright daylight.

Glad to hear the dealer did the right thing for you.

Yep, good advice here. No matter how new or old -- always inspect the car yourself.

Same with folks getting ready to pull the trigger on a bunch of aftermarket parts. Inspect it thoroughly so if there's any problem you can notify the manufacturer about rectifying it.

Night time is only used for dropping off the trade in, Not for picking up the new car.

Just kidding of course!
Glad they took care of it for you. Great job on the dealers part for saving the day!

Do you have any pics of the car?

Also, if you're interested in getting a free air filter/intake...

Thanks Lone Wolf, for the link to K&N. I've signed up for it. Let's see what happens :)

My dad told me long ago "Cars you buy at night, you'll need to sell at night".

Or sell in the rain. No one likes to get wet.

Generally I've always thought that sunlight was best for noticing imperfections, but actually the hail damage on my 2012 Impreza is far easier to notice when the car is not in direct sunlight. My car was in some pea size or smaller hail and I didn't think it had much damage, but when I washed it on an overcast day the hundreds of indentations in the top of the trunk stood out.

Glad they took care of you. Same thing happened when I bought my GTI, and thankfully my dealership did the same.
