Proud new papa......
Of an Asphalt 6MT!!
Just got her home after I had to stop by the dealership I didn't get it from and get my deposit back. I just got lucky with the timing and it just so happened that Lakeland Toyota/Scion had just gotten in the 6MT this morning. I got there just after the truck had pulled out and before they had even had a chance to was it and do the PDI on it. Took it off the lot with a total of 13 miles on it and took the salesman for a little ride after the paperwork was all finalized. I out scooped the salesmen at this particular dealership so many were pissed off to find the car had basically been sold before they knew it was coming it. Everyone was checking it out. I'll have pictures up this evening, but damn this thing is sexy. Glad I held out to find the exact color/tranny combo I wanted.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...n/IMG_0327.jpg Impressions after driving through a full tank of gas! Exterior - Its awesome. By far one of the best looking cars I have ever seen, and the Asphalt (or DGM for you Subaru guys) goes PERFECTLY with the rims. Glad I waited for it. I have seen the thread about the taillight condensation, but my issue is with the front turn signal has some condensation building up. I will have to take it in later. After I took the dealership plate frame and decal off, I put on a slightly smoked cover on it and it looks a whole lot better. Interior - Not a ton of frills, but its much better than what I'm used to (I used to drive a NeonSRT4) so I'm not hard to impress. When you sit in the car, you are sitting low. It almost takes you off guard just how high the dashboard sits once you're all the way down in the seat, not in a bad way though, as my fiance says, "different." For being such a small car, the inside is pretty roomy, at least in the front seats. I am 6'2" and fit just fine with the seat all the way back and down. The rear "seats" are a joke. You MIGHT be able to fit a small child back there if you have a child or short adult sitting in the front seat. With the seat all the way back, the front seat literally touches the rear seats. I will say the rear side windows are USELESS. They almost just shouldn't be there. You can't see anything out of them. I love the radio in it (I just have the stock radio, no bespoke). Having the ability to stream audio from my iphone via bluetooth is amazing. Just get in the phone and its going, no screwing around with wires or anything. The Driving Experience: This car is not going to blow anyone away off the line obviously, but that's not where the enjoyment lies. The engine noise under load is nice, and it quiets down when cruising. The cruise control is awesome (just thought I would throw that in there since my last car didn't have it, and I love having it now). The car definitely has more legs under it when you get higher into the RPM band but I haven't really gotten it there since it only has 300 miles on it atm. I'll post some more about the driving once I get it past 1k miles. The handling is what makes this car fun and I haven't even gotten near the limits of what it can do. Turns I would take at say 25-30 mph and get huge amounts of body roll I take a the same speed like they are nothing. The steering is super quick and the turn radius is nice (if you've ever driven a Neon SRT4 you'll understand about the turning radius). The car just makes me grin every time I take one of those turns. Driving in the rain - Just had my first experience driving in the rain, car handled it like it was nothing. I will say that the windshield had some sort of rain-x like coating on it, not quite as good imo, but it still did a pretty adequate job of repelling the water. Didn't lose traction at all, although I didn't push it hard at all because my fiance was in the car with me hehe. Here's a pic without all the dealer crap on the back http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...IMG_0338-1.jpg Just got it back from the tinter! Looks even sexier! http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...n/IMG_0340.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...n/IMG_0341.jpg |

Dammit Asphalt and whiteout....oh and black...which one do i want!
Congrats man! |
Asphalt was definitely my first color choice, and I'm glad I found one rather than settling for a different color just to get the car, I think it just goes so well with the rims!! The air conditioner I would say is adequate, but then again without the windows tinted yet, it gets super hot so it takes a few minutes for the car to cool down. I've been getting tons of compliments on it, and people looking at it as they drive by and in parking lots.

hey gratz braddah, I pick mine up in a couple of days and have nightmares of the finance guy derailing the whole deal... but anyways, that IZ badazz ENJOY!!
|
Congrats! Now go get a screw driver and a hair dryer and immediately remove that horrible license plate frame and hideous dealer decal ;)
|
Already done! lol
Looks much better now! |

I guess that's it for now, I'll have the windows tinted this week to keep some of the ungodly florida heat out of the car during the day. In the mean time, I'll have to find a good place to take some good pictures. |
Man...the more I look at the more Im loving Asphalt.

Looks great! Congratulation! Are you going to tint the windows? I haven't seen that solor with a nice road legal dark tint on it yet.
|

Congrats!
I want mine!!! |
How much did you tint the windows?
Quote:
|
The windows are 15% all the way around, wanted it to be uniform instead of the two main windows being lighter than the rest of it.

My color and transmission of choice too. Thanks for the pics!
|
Np!
Florida laws suck too with there 28% allowed on the front windows.... That's why mine says its an "offroad" tint job lol. |
Congrats! Tints look perfect! Could you get away with say... 50% on the windshield down there?

"offroad" is bacially the nicer way of saying its not legal for street use as in they can give me a ticket for it and the film itself isn't covered under warranty if it needs to be replaced.
