Brake Switch Fault | TSB FIX
3 Attachment(s)
I have been dealing with a random issue with my TCS/ABS MIL illuminating after car is hot and sitting at a stop with the brake pedal depressed.
The DTC Code Is: C1249 There is a TSB for this issue from Subaru which applies to multiple cars. 06-44-12 So Subaru warns if you frequently pump the brake pedal you can have a malfunction and says don't pump the brakes. Or in the case if you constantly bleed your brakes testing pedal feel its possible that the brake switch can get out of adjustment. In my case the switch was not activating the brake light when I pressed the brake lightly, so the ECU looks at master cylinder pressure and says why is there pressure and no brake light and throws a code. 1. Unlock the switch module by turning it counter clockwise. 2. Push the switch toward the pedal if your brake light is on without touching the pedal and the lock and test. 3. Pull the switch away from the pedal if the brake light is not illuminated immediately when depressing the pedal and lock then test. |
