DRL Bulb Sizing..

Hey Folks..

Im planning to purchase new set of DRL light..

but pretty new to DRL Bulb sizing and all the Watts..

I heard DRL Bulb Size is 9005..

http://www.dx.com/p/sencart-9005-7-5...9#.U5hUe_ldXTo

is this going to fit on Scion FR-S?

Thanks in advance.

illicitstylz 06-11-2014 11:21 AM

9005 check.

yep it'll work

phobos512 06-11-2014 11:47 AM

They'll fit but they're going to be incredibly dim. They put out slightly more light than your stock bulb in your overhead interior light.

Would you recommend good brand for DRL light?

I want something has projector with led on the side.

There really aren't any bright LED 9005 bulbs unless you want to pay a LOT of money. The inexpensive ones are all going to be about the same cost. You'd probably be better off just getting some whiter incandescent bulbs.

Thanks all guys.

Decided to go with Optilux 2000k Extreme Yellow Bulb.

The colour itself is brutal!

Quick question/concern: Our DRLs are run off the high beams, so if you replace them with LEDs, you're making your high beams inoperable. Unless you never plan on using them, in which case, good luck!

I did these and my headlights too. Extreme yellows from Hella.

Stock vs yellow headlights and highbeams.

How do these look when off? Does it make the high beam bowl look yellow?

From straight-on, yes. From and angle, not as much.

If you aren't worried about usable light output, our RGB LEDs are a great upgrade for the DRL's:
