Ohlins R&T camber for track
 

I have to re-align as I got a new car. Had them on the old car at -3.4f/-2.7r no toe and this setup worked very well on track but I was also lowered quite a bit.

Now that I'm at Ohlins-recommended height, wanted to check what others with the same setup are running. I track 235/40-17 Toyo Proxes RA1. Car is used primarily on the street but I want the setup that works best on track during the HPDE season.

I am planning to change alignment to something like -1.5f/-1r for the north east winters on winter tires.

Looking at -3f/-2.5r with 1/16 toe in rear. Alignment is done now since shop was able to take me in.

Alignment is now done with above specs. Car feels very solid on the street with minor tracking on grooved highway lanes. Will report after track days in early July.

Still would be great to have feedback from others with Ohlins R&T who track their cars - what is your camber/toe?

RA1's are rated for -2.5 to -5, given our camber curves, I'd imagine you'd want it pretty high.

Yeah, they recommend no less than -3 iirc, so with the rear increasing camber under compression hope will be right around that lower limit. They like less pressure too, so I run them around 35-37psi hot.

Pretty safe setup. The toe-in rear is a little bit too much for our taste. We run 0 toe all around. ;)

Thanks, how would you expect the 1/16 toe in to behave, given the rest of the setup, vs 0 toe?

@Dezoris, you made some changes recently, did you have a chance to try them on a track

Slightly more straight-line stability at speed, slightly harder to break the rear loose, but a bigger break when it happens.

If you're just looking for street stability, addign the same amount in front can work too.

Thanks...1/16 toe in or toe out in front for street stability? I might zero out toe in the rear instead as the whole purpose of this setup is primarily track friendly that also works on the street. Don't want bigger break in the rear but need some testing of current setup to see if that rear end gets too snappy for my taste or not.

Toe-in = more stable (the alignment causes the tires to want to grab inwards towards a central point)

Toe-out = less stable (the alignment causes the tires to point outward so the tires want to grab outwards away from the center of the car)

My car has an ABS/Traction MIL and the tuning is off, had zero time to even drive the car since I made the alignment changes.

Have two Autox this weekend if I can get any of it sorted before I will run it and let you know how it goes. My hope is it is more eager to rotate, if not I am putting spare tires on the rear.

Very funny closing statement. Please chime in after you try it out. Which camber/toe settings did you go with?

My 7th alignment, zero'd toe this time and kept rear camber less agressive to see of the rear will rotate now with front working better.

This was my street setup vs. my now more aggressive setup for street, track and autox.
