Bad Luck?

So in February I traded my Tundra for a Firestorm Red 2014 Frs, I just couldnt get enough of the car reading about it, got the short shift kit, the intake, and flowmaster exhaust put on it. The car is absolutely fun. 8 days after buying it a semi that was in front of me had a blow out the tire hit my car and did 1000 dollars worth of damage.. I got it fixed up after 3 long weeks in the shop and me dying to drive it.. now its June and 2 weeks ago I had the check engine light and the traction light and the car was basically running on one cylinder. I took it in under warranty the car has 6000 miles on it. They finally figured out what was causing the issue after 2 days and said the wiring harness has a wire inside the harness that is broken and is making contact and losing contact which is screwing up the computer so they have to order a new part, its going to be 3-4 weeks to get the part from Japan they said. So Week 1 passes by.. (btw they put me in a new camry; most boring car ever to drive) and Friday we get a bad storm and there was some golf ball sized hail.. the idiots left my car outside, and it has a broken windsheild and dents all over it now.. I was furious at the dealership because the service tech said i had to send my insurance adjuster to cover the damage.. After talking to the manager they are going to fix it supposedly I am going to verify that today.. and they will just have my insurance fix the 3 hail dents on the Camry.. I really starting to feel like this car is bad luck or something... and maybe i need to get out of it.. although i definitely owe more than its worth Ive only had it a couple months.. is it just coincidence all this crap keeps happening to me or what.. should i trade the car on something just to get out of it or keep it.. I love the car its so amazing to me.. but here it is Mid-Summer and I probably wont get my car fixed until end of July more than Likely.. what should I do. kick down the door and demand a new FRS and for them to put all my aftermarket parts on it off the old one?

First: The enter button is your friend, and would make that much easier to read :-)

Second: There is a "curse" that goes with these cars, a lot of people have gotten damage very soon after getting the car. That being said your situation truly sucks. However you should just let the dealer fix your car up and drive it, especially if you are underwater on your loan. You might be able to get some discounts on some goodies from the dealership, or possibly a discount on a new FR-S, but like I said if you are underwater just hold on at least until your loan is in the right direction.

haha thanks.. I'll try to use the enter button more..

I appreciate the advice I guess its just frustrating to try to figure out all on my own after being cursed by the car gods.

I hear ya. Mine is not as comprehensive as yours.

My BRZ was a blessing and a curse. Amazing car to drive but got me in trouble with the cops once (partly my fault for speeding late at night on road). Then I got in a left turn car accident a 2 months later and I'm pretty sure the car is totaled. Waiting to hear back from my insurance company. All within a span of 4 months. Well..at least I didn't put a ton of money in aftermarket parts yet or else that would've sucked more. The day after the car accident was suppose to be the day I get a TRD exhaust on her.

My baby was only 6 months old and I never had a chance to take her on a road trip yet. :/

It's not a "BRZ/FR-S" curse; it's a "new car" curse. The bird will always shit on the shiniest car.

Yeah, just happens. My first BRZ had a bad rock chip the first couple of days of owning it, and I had my first accident about six months later, which may or may not have led to the engine blowing up. The new one is about two years old and is getting some minor hail damage and a rock chip in the windshield repaired today. Of course, I have yet to own a car that hasn't been hit while I wasn't in it, hailed on, or had a windshield replacement (and some of them have had multiple things happen) even though I tend to trade in every couple of years. I don't get too excited about it anymore but I expect repairs to be perfect and in your case I would angle for some free stuff/services!

Yeah I definitely want something out of this.. and well said about the new car curse this is my first new car i ever bought.. and definitely never experienced anything like this in the past with the used vehicles i had bought.

Not sure the dealership owes you anything on this. Their insurance should be responsible for the hail damage on your car. You are responsible for the hail damage on the rental car. This is just bad luck. Shit happens. If you love the car ... Then keep it. Being underwater doesn't give you many financially prudent options. Once repaired ... Your car should be fine.

I would have to agree. The FR-S is my first brand new car and the day after I made the second payment it was in a hail storm. 1750 dollars worth of damage.

3 1/2 months after getting mine I was in a mix up with a drunk, 5K in body work. Damage from front bumber down passenger fender, door, quarter panel, and rear bumber.
This is my first new car purchase as well, feels good to see I'm not the only one. Hmmm...

Brutal.

I crashed first week of ownership, got it back, hailed next week and massacred the hood, roof and trunk.
After that I gave up caring made things easier.

2 of my panels have been replaced by people hitting my car.

Once rear ended in stop and go traffic, another while it was parked.

I feel that pain bro

Ahhhh, Murphy's Law. It's a son a bitch. I remember when I plowed a hay bail that fell off of a truck when I was on the interstate doing 80 mph. Just one of those things. Hopefully once your car is repaired it will be a while before anything happens again. Keep us posted. Best of luck. Cheers.
