most comfortable shock with Eibach Pro Kit

I was wondering about feedback on shocks. After installing the Eibach Pro Kit, the only noticeable ride quality difference came from the switch I made from stock 17 inch wheels to 18s with 225/40s. I have been very happy with the ride. I need shocks now, but I don't want to lose ride quality. What is the best shock in this respect?

AFAIK you really only have 3 choices out there right now all of which have different ride characteristics. Also ride quality is very subjective so give more details on what you want these struts/shocks to do and type of driving involved. FT86 Speedfactory has a good summary written for each of these products but I am not suggesting you buy from any vendor in peticular.

Bilstein B8

Thanks. I want the ride to be as close to stock as possible. I don't race the car, but I drive my DD FR-S like someone is chasing me. Thanks for the tip about ft86speedfactory.

I suggest going either with Penskes http://shop.penskeshocks.com/brz-frs/ or JRZ's RSPro

OP wanted "best" and made no mention of budget so sure, why not? Lol.

I mean at that level sure you could also lump in some eibach springs matched to the Penskes and call it a day :D oh wait, thats $10,000. I dont think OP is willing to pay THAT much. If you are, by all means lets get a review on this forum for some Penskes...

If he's willing to buy the Eibach pro kit, a set of lowering springs, when there are better options like RCE yellows and tarmacs and swifts, I'm not sure if he's willing to pony up for literally the top of the line dampers.

Yes he doesn't explicitly state his domain of money's, but it's safe to say most peoples budget doesn't include $10,000 shocks. I wish mine did lol

Any reason why you want to replace stock struts?

There's no "other" brand OEM replacement struts out yet? I mean like normal quality, not trackday bro spec.

Gonna bump this. I've been on a Pro-Kit for about a year and the ride quality just isn't cutting it anymore with the girlfriend. I can admit that it is pretty bumpy, but I don't mind nearly as much as her.
Are there any shocks out there that will give me factory ride quality or better when paired with a Pro-Kit? I'd like to stick around $600, but I can go more if I need to.
FYI, this car is just a daily driver. I don't even speed in it...just cruise from point A to point B. I don't need anything too fancy or anything for tracking. Just something that would give me a lot of comfort while driving on the crappy roads of Austin.

The answer is still the same:

The Konis are adjustable, so you can fine tune it a little bit for your purposes.

If youre looking to replace the shocks with a $600+ a little bit of head room for budget, Id wait to buy a system that has already matched springs to the damper curves.
