Looks good, but how reliable is it if you put miles on it?

Kit looks good, and sounds awesome. I don't like the fact they built the kit and now are selling the car. Doesn't really set my mind at ease for reliability and long term support.

This is the impression I've gotten from a few people in my area that have added FI to their 86s. For whatever reason, they've put the cars up for sale a short time after.

Should be just fine. I daily drive my 322whp FRS all year round. 7k miles and counting:thumbsup:

That has happened on lot on these forums too. Several of the early adopters that went FI subsequently unloaded their cars and moved on to something else. All that money wasted!

I think it became a cost:benefit thing. There was a guy around here who had a pretty quick 350Z using the GReddy twin turbo set up. He was making very decent power but was ultimately upset that he could have used the money (net) on a Z06 and been so much better off.

It's not that the owners don't love their car, it's just they are working with a budget and for what they can do with one platform + so much money invested, another platform just makes more budgetary sense.

The cars may be able to hold up just fine, but given this cars 12.5:1 compression, they were probably told by a tuner, "If you want to make more power, we're going to have to replace the pistons. The pistons are this much, the labor is this much."

After hearing that and considering the money they've invested for the return they got... they most likely found it was better to quit while they were ahead.
