I never thought I'd want one, but now....
Thanks for the post! |
I still think the decision not to include turn by turn navigation (even with your phone) is utterly goofy. Pioneer already has their app radio that supports iPhone nav apps, why didn't they integrate that support into this product?

no android support not fun

I tried it. I'll be honest. It's a mess. The whole interface is designed horribly. It is very very slow. And over a short five to six minute experience, it froze twice.
Overall, very frustrating. Gents, I recommend aftermarket (something I have nevert been too keen on) |
I am one of the few FR-S people to have received the BeSpoke radio on my car. I had a $2500 NAV system on my xB, and I suppose it spoiled me. It provided turn-by-turn directions and everything. The BeSpoke system does not have built-in navigation (even though I was told that it would have this). I must admit that I am disappointed that it doesn't have the promised feature, but the verdict is still out on whether I can become happy with the application. The Scion BeSpoke app just came out today, and it appears that a map application may integrate. That may suit my purposes, but it is all a bit hokey for $850 plus $450 (the cost of the old radio that was removed). For $1300ish, I would expect built-in navigation at this point. But, I am going to give it a chance for a few more days to see if I can get the voice and map features to work.

Good deal, nice to see this finally up!

After playing with an AppRadio2 (crap) and reading comments on this so far... seems like Pioneer has a lot of work ahead of them. I think I'm going to stick with the regular stock radio for now.

Even my kids (one a serious musician and one a techno-geek) like the radio. |
I just got a text from my dealer, and he said that BeSpoke is working on getting the map to show on the screen. So, hopefully that will start working soon.

The stock radio may work ok for some of you, but it is ugly as hell in an otherwise awesome looking car. Aftermarket it is.
The bespoke sucks. Its too expensive and aftermarket is way better for less money. If AppRadio 2 sucks, and Bespoke sucks...check out this one.. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...rs/AVH-P8400BH http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/St...8400BH_reg.jpg And the Sony XAV-601BT http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/sto...52921666438838 http://store.sony.com/wcsstore/SonyS...7/XAV601BT.png |
Yeah, the fact that it doesn't even have a nav button should tell you something. It's a poor design. I wish they would just let me design one for them.
I was actually considering getting that Sony XAV-601BT for my Eclipse. Looks like it just came out in stores. |
