FR-S/BRZ Convoy!
 

If anyone is interested in helping out I would like to start an event maybe once a month where FR-S/BRZ owners get together for a convoy rollout. Basically we will pick an hour or so long route (preferably a nice twisty back country road, to a predetermined destination (possibly another FR-S/BRZ meet up). The goad is to get as many twin owners out on the road for nice drive within the limits of the law (not racing). Once we reach the destination all participants can take the opportunity to get to know each other and share their collective knowledge. Food and (non-alcoholic) drinks are encouraged. This would be a great way for twin owners to connect and have some fun out on the road together.
If enough people are interested we can form a committee and decide on rules, regulations, times & destinations as necessary. I hope to see some interest on the forums.

So here is the first update to the thread. Beginning Saturday June 21rst I will be announcing the convoy route for the week. This event will be hosted every 3rd saturday of the month.

The first planned convoy will be to the Lady Luck Casino at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort on rt. 40. If this post generates enough interest then I will commit. The plan is to all meet at the waterworks mall near the dollar bank, have some lunch at 5 guys, italian village or another restaurant. We would have a quick meet and greet and then head out around 12 or 1 o'clock. I chose this route as the first destination for several reasons.

1.) It's a familiar rd. (no one likes to get lost)
2.) the road is well maintained (no potholes)
3.) the last stretch is a twisty mountain road (lots of fun for our cars in particular)
4.) there is a casino at the final destination (not too shabby).

i and few members here had this group driving last year and it turned out great.

Saturdays are out of the question for me, sounds like a nice idea though...

Just a reminder that next weekend is the convoy. If you want to go let me know. Ill still make the trip even if there's only one other 86 with me. I still plan to go if no one shows.

Change of date update. To all my twin owners out there. I just wanted to let you know that the convoy to Lady Luck Casino at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort has been changed to Sunday the 22nd. I haven't seen any interest generated yet so this shouldn't impact anyone as of yet. The reason for the change is due to my work schedule changing. There are no other changes to the event. Please let me know if anyone has any questions. Hope to see you there.
