I have been enjoying my setup in my BRZ consisting of a Nexus 7, BT, Torque APP and gt86mounts setup for awhile now. I decided to switch it to monitor the G forces and the picture shows the results. There are some nice twisty roads on my way home and as you can see I enjoy them greatly. BTW this is on OEM wheels and tires.

Cheers ,

Please don't be offended when I say this but I seriously doubt you're pulling 1+ g's on a regular basis. The car is great, but not that great. Especially on OEM tires.

Honestly, out of all of my car friends I only know one that can say their car actually pulls more than 1g laterally and it's a fully race preped RX3 on slicks. Even then it's only something that can be accomplished on a 100% clean track.

im sure those are peak forces and not sustained loads. its not really all that hard to hit 1.0 g in a spike and then level off back into what the tires will hold.

Normal methods of calculating lateral Gs involve vehicle speed and a known parameter of the skidpad (radius).

This.

I've worked with accelerometers for a while now. They get bumped and they report 10g. They are pretty sensitive. Usually displays like the one you have use a moving window average (or other filtering) and only display that, not the raw data. Raw data from accelerometers is messy as crap.

Still...I do like datalogging and it is cool to see what you are doing on a daily basis.

wait wut?

Cool program. If you're really pulling 1.00+ g (even peak) in your daily commute, that's pretty wild.

This. :laughabove:

The truth is on stock rubber you would find it pressed to hold .91g

The app is fun tho isn't it?

I pull the most G's in the elevator going up to my office...

So if i get that app on my phone, and take a corner fast, let the phone fly across the car, and take a high G hit to the door panel, will I win? lol
