DIY - AVO Transmission Mount Insert Bushing

Here's a quick DIY guide for installing the AVO Transmission Mount Insert Bushing. It helps to have the car up on a lift, but you can do it with the car up on stands. Just make sure you are on a level surface and that everything is secure. You will need a socket wrench and a 17mm, 14mm, and 12mm socket to do the job.

While you can do this with the exhaust in place, it does help to remove the front pipe while doing this. That is because you will need to remove the exhaust bracket from the transmission mount to do this job.

The bracket removed.

Then you need to unbolt the bottom nut from the center of the mount, and push the big bolt inside up and to the side as far as you can.

Next, loosen the 4 bolts on the sides of the mount bracket. You don't need to remove the bolts entirely.

Finally, loosen the two nuts holding the standard mount in.

With everything loosened, grease up the AVO bushing and wiggle it in. It may take a little force to go in, but it will eventually go all the way in.

When the bushing is all the way in, the end pieces will be just inside the two bolts at the top.

Tighten all the bolts back down including the large center bolt.

Finally, replace the exhaust mount bracket and replace the exhaust piece if you did remove it.

Check that all the bolts are tight, and give it a test drive!
