2013 GBS BRZ $24.8k w/ 18715 miles
Saw this BRZ on Cars.com, thinking about picking it up. It's got that Galaxy Blue Silica paint, manual transmission, premium trim, pretty clean in & out.
Concerns:
It has been certified by Subaru again, but what does that really consist of? A simple checklist? I figure I can haggle down to $23k for this. I'm really interested in this one, just curious as to what opinions are out there. Thanks in advance. http://i58.tinypic.com/23rsln8.jpg |
For that much, you can get a brand new FRS. And for a thousand or so more, you can get a brand new base BRZ. Sorry, but it's not a good deal in my eyes.

I'd personally try to find a Limited trim model. Or you could always buy a beast of beasts:

As a GBS limited owner, that colour is worth the extra $$$. Love walking to my car after a long day of work. As a financially attentive asian, your bang for buck is better elsewhere as stated by @speargunsandracecars

I paid 25k for my 2013 limited brz in October with 7 miles on it. You can do better unless CA is for some reason way worse as far as prices are concerned.

Dealer would not budge on price and I couldn't find any other WRB's within 100 miles. I think they knew I needed a car BAD Limited is definitely the way to go though. |
Should be able to get a better deal than that on a used car... Guarantee they paid about 20-21k for it. Beat em up and try to get them down to 21XXX.

These aren't new cars in short supply anymore |
Not worth it. With current incentives + dealer haggling you might as well just get it new. I thought I'd try to pick up used ones as well, and there were several in my area with owners trying to get out of their leases from their 2013 models, which they nearly all paid MSRP for. Keep in mind you're still paying taxes etc. when you purchase it either way.

I paid MSRP for by 2014 WRB Limited ($28k). Why would you pay ~$25k for a BRZ with almost 20k miles on it? Boggles my mind. Just go for a new Limited BRZ or FRS.
|
I've seen used BRZ Limited trim with less miles for less than that. Keep looking.
|
Not a good deal. You can buy a brand-new FR-S or BRZ for the same, maybe even less.
|
I agree with the others, my limited new with 7 miles(not 7k) was under 26k.
You should be looking at ~23k for a premium brand new. |
I paid $24,400 for my 14 with 10 miles on it here in the LA area. Now these cars are holding their value extremely well, but I would bite the bullet and go for a new one. You never know who and how that car was beat on. I know at times I beat on mine and I plan on keeping it a long time.
