what options do I have for a catted UEL header?

Okay so I just picked up my '14 BRZ in satin white pearl. It looks great and has just 170 miles on it. I want to put a catted UEL header on before any other exhaust component. I've done some research, and aside from speedfactory's and JDL's catted UEL's, I haven't found any other. Are they the only 2 that make a catted one?

Also, should I wait until I'm done breaking in the engine (and then some) until I put on a header?

and when I say "just picked up and has 170 miles on it", I mean I bought it 2 days ago with 12 miles on it and did the rest myself.

I would never buy a new car with any more than 15, maybe 20 miles on it, because I work at a very high-end dealership, and I KNOW how new cars are driven by some people.

Just curious but why do you want a catted header?

I want the increase in sound/rumble and reduction in the torque dip that the header is claimed to do, and I don't want issues with passing emissions for inspection!

Any other solutions for this desire? ^^

Just because a header is catted doesn't mean you'll pass inspection with it. Technically speaking you are not allowed under federal law to replace a functional cat so a catless header is just as "lefal" or "illegal" as a catted header. A tune will turn off the CEL associated with cat inefficentcy due to running catless so as long as you don't have an anal inspection place you should be fine passing an emissions test through ODB2.

I could've sworn I saw one earlier today when searching....

So for a catted UEL my only option is a speedfactory?

When it comes to exhausts, I'm really not familiar. I never though cats were part of the headers on cars, I thought they were later on in the system.

I want a header upgrade for my brz, mainly for the sound, but also for that torque drop remedy. However, I want to be able to pass inspections without needing any "connections", lol. What are the solutions?

oh ok gotchya. this helps. I can look into other companies, then.

and I bet here's a noob question, but like i said, I don't know much about exhausts. Never had to do a system from scratch myself. IF I get a cat-less header, will the exhaust reek? or are there other cat's in the system

The front pipe has a cat in it so you'll be fine as long as you don't replace that pipe with a catless version as well.

haha I think that's what I'm opting for since I learned that there's another cat on the front pipe and so my exhaust won't reek of fumes.

last question, will an aftermarket header void my warranty?

OP, You have a few options.
