Curb rash what should i do?

I have 2 Rota Torque wheels in titanium chrome that have some pretty bad curb rash. They are not repairable should I live with it or just get 2 new wheels?

mfbmike 06-02-2014 03:14 PM

they're rotas. just live with it.

that's an entirely personal question only you can answer, mang

brz7400 06-02-2014 03:45 PM

looks ok to me, except for the rim edge.
why not just touch up the entire rim edge perimeter black and it will blend into the tire?

TylerLieberman 06-02-2014 05:43 PM

I would just leave it.. If you must fix it though

Sand it, mask it off, paint with dupli color chrome from an auto parts store. That will probably blend it the best.

AVodka14 06-02-2014 05:49 PM

Eh, that's not bad.

Ordered two new wheels. I'll just sell these. Of course my luck I drive threw some paint and now the wheel is covered in paint...

That is the main reason that I HATE the "stick out" look.

It makes zero sense (to me) to have anything but rubber "sticking out".

That way it takes a fairly major "brush" with a curb to get rash.

Learn to know where your wheels are, you'll never curb them again

The lip of the wheel doesn't really stick out of the tire. Trust me I like everything flush. At the time I was waving to my friend as I passed by and wasn't paying attention to the road.

Rocket.BRZ 06-02-2014 07:52 PM

I'll probably stick these up on the for sale thread. 100 bucks each

Roxy86 06-02-2014 07:57 PM

isn't it cheaper to buy a new rota then to repair?
