Well, to each their own. I can understand paying for factor installed navi/push start/factory HIDs, different paint colors, engine differences... but I just think it's a lot to pay for just simple exterior cosmetic differences. Maybe it's because I'm not that big a fan of the blue interior pieces though. I'm too old to rice.

Contact the forum vendor I suggested seriously.... lots and lots of happy customers here who paid way less through him than what any local dealer could get them...

I've heard about him, although I just don't get the concept of dealing with someone all the way in Colorado while i'm here in NYC. How does that process work!?

Yup, the limited is just plastic and some blue interior pieces. The big money you're spending is on the blue interior thread.

I understand the exclusivity part though. It just sucks that it's all cosmetic. =(

Tell me about it...i'm rather disappointed myself. But, I know i'll be happy once I get it, in any trim.

I just hope that I don't miss out on this trim though!

Contact him with all the details... The concept is simple, save $$$...

If he would been available at the time I bought mine, I would have no questions asked gone with him and saved around 2K on the purchase..

Hmm. I'm not sure how dealer to dealer destination charges are handled. But if he can save you enough money to make it worth while.

I'll definitely give him an email today before contacting my dealers around my area.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Otherwise, anyone else care to advise me how to go about this? I can use all the help I can get!

It's not dealer to dealer, its a direct sale from them. They ship the car directly to buyer. It's a simple, easy transaction. Way easier than haggling with the local D-bag vendor who doesn't know jack shit about the car. That is the #1 volume dealer in USA and the vendor here specifically the #1 BRZ seller in the country.

Look at the trader rating.

Call around first, you may find the same deal locally. Ymmv.

I just contacted two of the highly-rated Subaru dealers around my area according to dealerrating.com.

I also just contacted Clint to see what he says about what he can do for me.

Once I get emails from all three, I can finally weigh my options and hopefully pick the best one for me.

I will def keep you guys updated since you've all been helping me a lot, which I appreciate.

Hopefully, one of those three dealers comes through with a price and offer I can't refuse!

Also, I understand the doubts concerning buying a car out of state and especially one that is so far, but so far, amongst all that i've read, so far so good.

Any idea how long I should wait for a reply? Or was there anything that I should have included in the subject or content of the email?

I'm hoping Clint didn't see it as a spam email.

Email takes forever. Just pick up the phone and call. You'll be done with it all in 5min.

Figured i'd email since I currently don't have the time for the phone atm.

EAGLE5 06-02-2014 06:03 PM

I emailed 10-15 dealers. About 10 responded. I just said what car I was looking for in what color with what options and that I was seriously going to buy ASAP. I ended up calling a dealer with a higher price, where a friend had just bought an Outback, asking if they would beat the best offer I had gotten, or at least match it. They said they could not match the price and that I should jump on it.

I do not think of these special editions as being special at all. I watched all those RS model Scions come out over the years and just snorted in disgust. They're for suckers. Nothing but a few badges and some tiny bits. Not worth it at all.

I do miss keyless entry and ignition, but it's not worth thousands to me, not even close.

x1UP 06-02-2014 06:22 PM

I emailed three, and two got back to me. Both my local dealers.

Both dealers said that they have no information regarding the price or any information that they can give me or any suggestions on how to go about the process until they get more info.

How they don't know the price is beyond me. It's posted right on Subaru's website.

One dealer did say that they were going to take pre-orders in July, but again no price point or suggestions other than, that both will keep me updated.

Hopefully, Clint comes through and emails be back! I sent him a general email with a subject line of 2015 Subaru BRZ Series.Blue

Let's hope for the best!
