Didn't see any posts for a year... but does anyone have their gen 1 2013-2021 out yet? Would like to rent one to take some pictures of the interior for like 30 minutes. Don't need to drive it just have it parked somewhere with good lighting. I have $20 lol.

Anyone from the area track their car at TMP or Grand Bend? I'm planning to be making tons of trips this year and it's always more fun in a group.

Any local 86 communities still around, meet ups?

Hi!
I’m in Chatham now after moving from Burlington in July.
A Buddy (Miata) and I do 5-6 days, usually Mondays at TMP each year and I may now try Grand Bend as it’s much closer. Perhaps we’ll meet.

Hey guys, now that we start to return to pre-pandemic situation, it is any FRS/ 86/BRZ event/ meeting schedule on the coming days, at or close to KW area? just wondering... Thank you in advance!

Let's get one organized. Would be great to see some of the modded 86s in the area, keep seeing enough of them on the local streets

I’d be up for the drive as long as not late on a weeknight.

There is also a cruise night in the east end of London every Sunday evening. Mostly classics but a few new but unusual cars are always mixed in. I have gone a few times with the Hakone and have a blast standing back and watching people try to figure out what the hell it is. An easy 90% say it is a Supra.

Back in the day my old car group used to meet up at Timmies parking lot on Ottawa and King every Sunday. It's a large parking lot, popular gathering spot for cars and bikes.

I remember the one in Ottawa & King, I went couple of times. Also, most likely you guys know, but every Monday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Shoppers @ Highland Rd. it is a car show, not big, but some nice classic cars, from June to first week of Sept.

As you mention Boss, I saw some nice FRS/86/ BRZ in the area and even a couple of GR86 (one red and one white)... That is why I think will be great to get together and hope have the opportunity to meet all of you... Will be great to meet Tcoat in person!

LF shop recommendations. I'm new to the area and back in a condo where I can't do my own wrenching. I trust this forum more than Google reviews. I did a search but didn't see anything particularly recent/local. It sounds like NV Auto has a good reputation, though something closer to Kitchener would be nice.

Right now I just need an oil change (which I know any place can do). Would rather go to a place I can start building a relationship with.

TheBoss77 01-30-2023 11:53 AM

What are you looking for to get done?

I've used TireCraft which is currently on Weber/University for over 15 years for a lot of work when I needed a hoist. Back then they were known as TireCo on King/Northfield. Talk to Andrea or Jay, they will take good care of you.

These cars are so easy to work on, most of the work on mine happens in my garage. If there's some work you want done that doesn't need a hoist, you can probably post it here, I'm sure lot of members on here will help you out.

Right now, just an oil change. But if I'm going to do that anywhere, it might as well be somewhere I can trust with whatever more complicated work pops up down the line. Preferably somewhere that doesn't mind working on lowered cars.

I just moved into a condo, so anything that can get messy or require the car to be lifted is out of the question.
