Ok lol I think I saw thorlius today - I was leaving work and someone in a slick black C6 gave me a thumbs up as he drove by. My brother and I were like, "Is he giving US the thumbs up?!" Sorry but I was stunned, actually, so I'm not sure if you saw me but I gave you the peace sign as I finally got on to Albert but you were turning left, so I doubt you saw it.

Anyone use the HD-Radio option in Kitchener? Just curious what HD stations we have around here.
|
I spotted my twin WRB BRZ Sport-tech driving on HWY 85, heading North near the University exit. I waved, but don't think he saw me. Looked good :)

If you see a not-so-slick black Cobalt driver giving you a thumbs up, it's more likely that it's me... that's my winter beater (now my primary car) that'll be listed once the FR-S comes in. Maybe I'm just a tad biased, but I can understand why a 'vette owner might like the FR-S/BRZ. :) |
15 hours seemed like an eternity

The only real solution is to get a red one just for the track, and have the back one as dd. LottoMax is $50 million tomorrow right? Congrats Demandred7! |

Took my car to the track after break in period was over. Had to go to the track for some open lapping of course :)

Great video. I was doing a similar lapping day at Mospost two weeks ago. Damn! I was a blast. Next time you see something like that, post it. I'm sure lots of us would like to go, but may have not seen it advertized anywhere. |
I'm definitely up for a track day. I've only got 650km's so far though, got a few to go :)
On a side note Sal, turns out we have a few mutual friends, Mircea, Dave, Alex, Nelu. I was showing them my BRZ, and they were talking about your FRS and I recognized the name from the forums. |
I was in the McDonald's drivethrough (they have excellent coffee) on Northfield at 2:30pm today and recognized the roofline of a car in my rear view mirror. A check in my side mirror confirmed it: a Whiteout FR-S.
Is it bad when you know a car from only the roof? |

So, was it worth the wait? How long was your first drive home? My frist drive home took two and a half hours. (I live 16km from work. lol) The road just never seemed to point that way. |

I ordered mine July 7th (Firestorm MT at Heffner Toyota) and still have no delivery date in site, so don't get too excited yet. :iono: |
Sorry no connections ,have you tried a different dealer I signed the papers for mine on a Saturday and picked it up a week later that was from Cambridge scion try giving them a call or I would start calling heffner every day until they give you a delivery date or if you have a vin number they should be able to give you a build date on the car

I had requested test drives from Cambridge, Heffner, and Guelph for an AT. I had originally thought to just test drive the vehicle and then order one, but, the car that I test drove was available for sale and ordering one would be a minimum of weeks and if I wanted a rare colour, it might even be months (they are built in Japan after all). I fell in love with the car and did not want to wait. As a matter of fact, I almost missed out on the car because I was staining my deck when I received a reply from Guelph Scion that one was available. Luckily it was late in the day and the next day was raining. I went to the dealership as early as I could. I guess what I am trying to say (in a long winded kind of way), no one is getting any special favours. Sometimes it is a matter of being at the right place at the right time. Being persistant will pay off with an answer eventually. And like ZiggyZag420 said, if you have a VIN, they should at least be able to search it and give you a rough estimate. |
Cambridge Scion has a firestorm AT with upgraded audio sitting on there lot,not sure what's going on with it but it was there as of August 21

Frustrating, but I'm fairly confident that I'm not the only person in this situation. |
Spotted either an Asphalt or a dirty black FRS yesterday evening on hwy 85 between university and king.

Just about ready for my first fill up. Where does everyone fill up at? I have heard good things about Shell and their V-Power gas (although technically only 91 octane).
|
I usually fill up at the petro on homer Watson ,buy two car washes at the same time and get five cents off per liter of gas

How does the engine sound with Petro (I have heard mixed reviews)? |
I too am interested: V-Power only? Which brands have we heard crickets/no crickets on?
From what I've seen there's been some conflicting evidence with respect to these types of questions. |
Believe it or not, buying prem at cosco has worked out for me with the crickets...

I'm on my second tank of Shell 91 (from Ultra 94) and I haven't noticed the crickets as much as my first tank. The first tank definitely reduced the percentage of the crickets from 90% of the time to maybe 20% but that's just a guess as I honestly haven't paid attention to it as it never really bothered me in the first place. I guess you could say I switched to the Shell 91 as an experiment to see if it really does quiet the crickets, and it does for the most part in my case. YMMV.
|
Perhaps we could create a thread for South-Western Ontario drivers specifically aimed at attaining some good solid feedback with respect to gasoline and what they've noticed with different brands?
I realize the crickets probably aren't damaging by any means but it would be nice to know how to reduce or eliminate them if one wanted to. |

Done, just started one on the Canada regional forum. Good idea. |
From what has been said in the other threads here, it's the ethanol in combination with the direct injection that causes the crickets. Why that is I don't know, and I'm not too sure if anyone has really figured it out (I don't follow a lot of threads that closely unless it's here or the Track/Autocross section :slap:).
The thing that I do know about ethanol is it acts as an octane booster. The Shell 91 without ethanol is essentially a pure 91 octane, where as those with ethanol is a "boosted" version (for lack of a better term - you know, octane booster). My tuner actually told me that I should be running 91 in my track car as it has much better power potential than Petro 91. I haven't really tried that since I did get that car tuned on the Petro (7cents off per litre ftw) but for my BRZ, I'm actually curious to see if there's a mileage difference (supposedly 91 gets better mileage). So as I said before, this Shell 91 vs Petro 94 (and eventually 91) is an experiment just to see if there are any benefits of each. |
Anyone else going to Mosport on the 25th?
