My friend says he's seen a black one two days in a row, in Breslau. Might be you sal?
|
How are you liking the car Sal? Can you give a comparison between it and your GT-Four?

Aznek, Comparing the GT4 to the 86, I can tell you right off the bat the 86 handles better with the factory suspension! There is no roll in the 86 which really impresses me about this car. The GT4 in terms of speed is obviously the winner, but the 86 is pretty torqy surprisingly. I am driving still breaking it in so I am not redlining it yet! Interior in the 86 is smaller then my Celica, but its surprisingly more roomier! The dead pedal is bigger, and the seats I think are just as comfy as the OEM Recaros my GT4 Has. The shifter is as smooth as butter for both cars, with the 86 Having the shorter gear throws. Back Seats for the GT4 are definitely more spacey though. Here is a picture of my Celica and the Interior: http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...513_195217.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...v/IMG_9773.jpg I'll post some pictures up of my new car now! :) Here it is the day I picked it up! http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...611_134101.jpg First thing I did the same day I picked it up was rebadge the vehicle: http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...2_174016-1.jpg I also purchased the DC Sports 1011 exhaust tips to better compliment dat ass the 86 comes with. Before: http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...612_163848.jpg After: http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...612_174046.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...612_174034.jpg Here it is at my friends shop removing the DRL and just checking out the under body of the car: http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...614_003734.jpg It's hard to see, but here's a picture of the underbody: http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...614_001951.jpg And last night, I had the chance to change the lights to 5k HID's that my friend hooked me up with! Crappy comparison of 5K Vs Stock: http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...615_020837.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...615_020818.jpg Finished! http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/c...615_021418.jpg |
Nice!
Congrats on the pick up! I like your GT4 as well. I think I've seen your car around too.. How is the cutoff with the stock halogen projectors? And out of curiosity, which badges did you use? |
Those exhaust tips look so much better!

Anyone know a reputable Tinter / Clear bra installer in the Tri-City area?
|
I got my last car done here great job http://www.tricitysolar.com
They are at Victoria St. and Lackner Blvd |
For anyone still waiting in KW, here's a bit of info on my car (deposit May 14, one of the cars that was to come into the dealership as unsold). Apparently it is supposed to be at the dealership (Cambridge) very soon, as it shows in inventory (according to my salesguy, this previously meant they got the car the day it showed that). :D

Picking up my car on Friday morning...
|
Yesterday around 6pm I spotted dark grey either FR-S or BRZ, did not catch the badges, it was just a split moment, was making left turn off Huron Rd. Looks great! I don't recall anyone on the forum in KW mentioning dark grey car, maybe the person isn't on the forums.

Thanks! Well, I managed to get to work today and participated in a snake of traffic this morning. Only stalled once taking off on a slight incline. So yea its getting better.

Since I was being butt-sniffed half the time in the fr-s this weekend (either they are in a rush or wanted to check out the car), I started to really appreciate when people give me some space behind and don't get mad at me for taking off slower than regular auto mashers. Im sure I'll get faster to take off soon (smoothly). Most people reacted ok when I stalled, there were a few that got a bit angry. Its all good, I don't mind. :) |

The beauty of the situation is that most people don't know wtf you're doing when you've stalled. The people that do realize you've stalled are the other manual drivers and they'll usually understand and be more patient. Btw, how you liking the car? |

I liked the car a lot, obviously nowhere near the limits, but I took a roundabout pretty fast (under speed limit obviously) and was amazed how it just goes where its supposed to. The suspension is amazing: compared to loosey goosey 03 maxima, that's like apples and oranges and I knew that car well and could haul ass on roundabout and start sliding. I think I can do it almost as fast now and without any of the drama. The downside is that its pretty bouncy on bad roads, especially in my area, the inner roads are definitely due for an update, because my fat gets jiggly until I exit onto main road. As far as cosmetics, I thought maybe one day I'll lower the car. I don't think so anymore. Its plenty low to the ground, screw the wheel gap aesthetics, at least for now. I'm afraid in winter time its going to be bad. I think it may be bad in winter as is, even with winter tires, we'll see. Can't say this car is faster than maxima in straight (auto), but its very close, obviously Im missing mad torque pull, but I think once I reach break in point that high redline will take care of this. For daily driving, its plenty and I sometimes even think car as a whole is a handful to deal with just driving to work (which is the main purpose for now). I told my wife I'm thinking we should move out of our small townhouse in a few years, get kids going and get a van or crossover. I love driving the car so far, but would love to have some luxo barge for a change sometimes. I told her about half a year ago I'd love to have small car (fr-s/miata + Lexus LS or some big Benz), I'd love that combo. I am just not sure if I feel like driving this car every day of the year, sometimes I just want to relax and "sleep" at the wheel :D. Here's an interesting tip I've received from an experienced manual driver co-worker. He drove 80s supra and some other nice cars in his day. He told me to put my right leg on the clutch pedal and press it in and ensure that it is almost straight, no bending and not reaching. This way you measure your seating position. I had to move back (making back seat behind me useless. But when I started driving, I was much better with the clutch. We went around the block with a couple of stop signs and I did not stall once and actually started to take off much smoother. He said this position ensures you have better left leg movement with the clutch and gas. I was actually in awe that this little tweak allowed me to do what I did. Give it a try. |

|
Heys guys, just ordered a Hot Lava auto from Cambridge scion on Saturday hope to get it soon
|
Spotted mountainside on Fairway Rd yesterday! Your boy was driving, looking good :). We were in my wife's red Mazda making a turn to get some cakes at Williams yum.
At first I was like ok whats that, so tiny. Then I realized the shape is fr-s. When I saw the car first time along with other vehicles, I realized how miniature it looks in comparison to all other cruise ships around it.. hehe. But when I walk around it and sit in it it does not feel that small. I guess everything is relative. |
Just got word from the dealer car is in Toronto hopefully delivered anywhere from Monday to Wednesday next week can't wait to get my Hot Lava auto first mod is getting the windows tinted.
