I know a few people who drove through the winter on their summer tires! I store my 'Lenore", but I took it out early when the good weather started. Then we got snow dumped on us. I can tell you that it's behaviour is very predictable, easy to correct, and a ton of fun! If I drive it through the winter next year (likely not), I would definitely put on winters though. It may be fun and easy to slide around, but if I need to stop suddenly I wouldn't want to be on summers.[/QUOTE]

Meh no guts no glory Slarti!

Thanks Slartibartfast. Yah after used winter tires on two cars for 2-3 seasons, I am a firm winter tires believer. I like the extra grip comparing to all season tires.
Leaving it in garage is the best way to protect it from salt, but you missed driving it every day, didn't you? Haha. Plus the insurance.:mad0260:

I still think you're crazy.

I have a question. Since the warmer weather I've been getting a strange smell on occasion in the car. Anyone else experienced this? I remember something in the fall when I first got it but it was so long ago I'm not sure if it's the same thing or not.

Care to elaborate on the smell? If it smells stuffy/stinky towel smell, it could be the AC recently turned off.

Not the A/C. The first time I smelled it I thought someone was tarring a roof or road nearby. That kinda thing. Just had my first oil change today so it can't be anything too serious, I would think they'd have spotted it.

On another note (no pun intended)... got my GReddy exhaust and clear side markers installed!!! Woohoo! Sounds awesome! :)

Spotted and got a wave from a Raven FR-S on Ottawa above the expressway today just after noon. Guessing it's not someone from here but worth mentioning.

Dropped in to Cambridge Scion today... Corey showed me a sweet Firestorm being picked up this afternoon that they had done heated leather seats in it. Looked really good! Very well done.

Finally got our summers on today. Black Enkei Kojins wrapped in Dunlop Direzza 2's. Staggered 8.5 up front and 9.5 in the back. A big thanks to JRP who had them in stock and good to go in under 15 minutes for us. :)

How do they feel and handle? Also, do you have a side shot?

Harbinger of Darkness 04-28-2013 08:51 PM

Feels like she's got claws. All she does is grip. I'll post side shot when I make a proper post in the wheel & tyre section.
