Ok, I came across this thread (re: GT86 headlight installation) - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24352.

In order to get the lights to operate exactly like the GT86 specs, you need to a bit more than just re-pinning the wires. And from the sounds of it the HID is bi-xenon, but I don't understand how this "bulb position" dealie works - should just be an actuator for the cut off shield to get the high beams.

Yeah, I regretted not having done so when I realized I wouldn't've had to wait that much longer for the BRZ. I expected easily 6+ months for a BRZ and 2-3 months for the FR-S but it ended up being 4.5 months anyways, and I probably could've found a BRZ within around 6 months from last July.

Hi Everyone! I am a new member on the forum and a new FR-S driver! I am a female from Waterloo and just recently switched from a modded bmw 335i to my asphalt FR-S! I recently purchased it from Guelph Toyota, and they were BEYOND amazing to deal with! No questions asked, they helped me out in every way possible. Highly recommend taking your car there for service or to purchase a ride!

Otherwise, the FR-S is such an amazing ride compared to the horror I dealt with my BMW and the mod bug has already caught on! I look forward to coming out to the meets in the area and getting to know everyone!

Welcome to the club. The guys at Guelph Scion probably told you about the meet that they are trying to arrange in the spring. I suspect it might be the first of 2013 unless we catch a break with an early spring.

Any one in guelph may notice a raven frs at the mall, we are also doing a giveaway while it is there, the prize pack will be a ogio scion backpack crammed full of scion "swag" as they so call it.
All you have to do is go to www.facebook.com/guelphscion like the page and share the picture, best of luck anyone who is interested

We're going to be doing something for sure. If spring comes early, it could be earlier. We don't want to have it a a time when people are still driving their winter beaters.

We haven't hammered out the details yet, but we'll have some swag, a bbq, and we're working on "activities". I will hopefully have some extra goodies on my car to show off. I'm really interested in see what any of you guys have added.

It'll be fun for sure.

And @KPDoubleX welcome to the club from me too. I don't think we met when you picked up your car.

Slartibartfast you take her out of storage yet?

thorlius 03-05-2013 10:24 AM

Welcome KPDoubleX. :)

I got my HID kit from TRS yesterday. The packing slip says 2x "used camping lamps" worth $7.50 each for a $15 order. :bellyroll:

RandomHero 03-05-2013 12:01 PM

I will have a shiny new UniChip tuner with Flux2 display to show off for the first meet this year :D

Nice! Was that by request or just the goodness of their hearts? Also did you go full retrofit or just the HIDs?

ScottishJedi 03-05-2013 12:45 PM

Thorlius, you're cruising year round in your Fr-S right?
Did you swap out your tires or are you running on the originals that came with it?
I didn't bother swapping mine out there have been a couple interesting drives home from work but nothing that would warrant the outlay of $1000!

RedFR-s 03-05-2013 05:09 PM

I ordered a Manual Firestorm FR-S back in Feb, should see it in May. Live in Guelph, in school in Waterloo, and work in Woodstock, kinda all over the place. Seen a bunch of them around and cannot wait to get behind the wheel of mine. Hopefully I can get out to a few of the meets this spring/summer.

thorlius 03-05-2013 06:28 PM

RandomHero - All them! I'll have to write in a thank-you once I've installed everything. $345 order (full retrofit kit) written down as $15 to save me customs/duties. I'll be cruising around with some wicked used camping lamps as headlights in a couple weeks. :D

ScottishJedi - I'm running steelies and winter tires. I cheaped out on them though, cause I wasn't interested in spending a grand on them either. I think all in I was under 800 (with labour).
