Exhaust Systems Hawaii

Hey all. I just wanted to see if anyone has ever dealt with ESH before? I went over to them to ask about an exhaust for the BRZ. They said they dont make UELs so I would have to buy one and once its on they can make me an exhaust. Is their stuff good quality or should i go some where else?

I've only gone to the one in Kailua but have been used them a bunch of times and never had an issue. I'm actually planning to go there in the next couple of weeks to get a custom exhaust done to change my setup.

I've been out of the scene for awhile but are they still the only shop on the island that has a mandrel bender?

Making a header is going to be labor intensive and for a local shop to make a one off just doesn't make financial sense unless you're willing to shell out the $$ to offset the time. Best bet besides finding an existing exhaust system is to find a reputable brand that makes a off the shelf header than having ESH do the rest of the piping.

Have you not found any of the existing exhaust systems to your liking? Is that the reason for a custom setup?

Well I have looked at a few. I just put in an order for the FT86SpeedFactory catted UELs but they have a 12-14 week turn around. I heard a clip of them with the Invidia N1 catback with stock over and front, sounded sick. I'll probably go with that but I like knowing my options. The major issue is that turn around, because even at 12 weeks exactly I'll be underway for a month and a half two days before they show up.

Haha tell me about it. I just waited over 3 months for the Open Flash header and it only shipped out Monday. Trust me you don't want to wait that long. It's agonizing waiting for parts. :bonk:

Personally, if I had known it was going to take this long I would've waited a little longer for the Tomei one to come out.

Are you looking for a catted version header only? Don't think there's too many options available. HKS has one but it's a bit pricey. Other US based shops, albeit smaller, do have more affordable options but not sure on the quality.

I talked with Yo from FT86speedfactory in a long email conversation. I let them know that I would be out of town when the headers showed up because I'm in the military. Their response was that they will try to bump my order up so I can have them sooner. "Enjoy them a little before Im away" I dont know about you but thats damn good customer service and I'm getting all my parts from speedfactory.

I've had good dealings with ESH, but then I wasn't getting anything fancy done and I didn't care how pretty it was. They usually just do wire feed MIG, I don't know if they do nice TIG. And it was all from collector back and plain bends with regular aluminized steel tube. They dont do headers AFAIK, and usually you need to install the header.
Friend also had work done on his '53 Chevy and current Mercury and he's been happy. Again, not showcar stuff, but they took care of us.
