JDM exhaust fitting
 

Hi all, newbie here...

Just got myself a new 86 here in Dubai. Not sure if it's just mine, but there were no exhaust tips on it and it looked complete crap. So picked up a set of JDM tips and just fitted them. My concern is there was nothing much holding them in place except one bolt each and see nothing on other posts suggesting more than this. Is that all there is? Just wondering if the standard exhaust could be different here? If this is all, should they be very tight? I don't want them to fall off, everyone will start laughing again!!!

In North America it is the same situation, we get tiny crap tips. I also replaced mine with the JDM tips and yes it's only held on with 1 bolt. Tightened til I can't tighten them anymore.

Sorry to resurrect this, but just for complete clarity, this one bolt doesn't screw into anything on the existing pipes. It just squashes into the existing tail pipe?

it shoudl just clamp on. Make sure to use threadlock. If you're worried, just tap a hole in the pipe.
