(VIDEO) Stock Exhaust vs Berk Track Pipe

Here is a little video I made showing the stock exhaust vs the Berk Technology Track Pipe (Single Exit)

https://vimeo.com/96499802

Description:
Install of the Berk Technology Track Pipe (Single Outlet 4") to the 2013 Scion FRS
This install is identical to install on a BRZ/GT86

Weight savings was about 30 pounds.

This car has:
No exhaust modifications prior to the Track Pipe
Only other sound changing modification is:
GReddy Intake

Install time was about 15 minutes.

Tools needed:
Jack
2xJackstands
14mm 3/8 Drive Deep Socket
14mm Wrench (Closed End)
Exhaust Hanger Removal Tool (Or just a screwdriver and some force)
Corrosion Inhibiter (Copper Coat or HS2000)

Sounds very nice! We have been installing Single tip and Dual tip versions!

Personally I think the single tip has more of a race sound, while the dual has a street rumble!

Haven't heard a dual. I've read they are actually louder than the single that OP and I have.

I am curious why the need for jack, jackstands and corrosion inhibiter? I did it by kneeling on the ground behind my car in my parking spot. Didn't need to do anything but reach underneath, was cake. The exhaust pliers worked a treat.

No drone sir!

Andrew025 05-30-2015 10:32 AM

There's definitely some drone with a single exit track pipe.
I took mine off because if it.

My Nameless Track pipe (which would sound identical I think) drones bad @2500 (120km/hr) highway cruising. I have an A/T and that is where the revs sit on the highway. So I just slow down to 2000 rpm where it is MUCH more tolerable. Otherwise it sounds great driving around town and I am all stock as well.

I have the dual exit/tip version. Sounds great. Has some drone at 2000 to about 2400 rpm. Love the popping sound it produces.

JTOFJPN 06-10-2015 10:37 AM

I don't consider this "drone" ... I'm used to much louder exhausts, so when I modify my exhaust to flow better than factory I feel like I'm getting what I paid for when there is more noise lol
