Help installing Koni Yellow/Anyone have a 3" pipe cutter?
Does anyone have a 3" pipe cutter I can borrow or use? I'm trying to do the Koni Yellow install: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39028
Although I can use other cutting tools, I do want to reduce the risk of screwing up so I would like to use the tool recommended in the tutorial. Or does anyone else have access to tools that can make a precise cut through the strut housing for installing the Koni Yellow inserts? |
a pipe cutter will make a clean/prefect cut
but if you're in a jam, any other cutting tool will do the job of slicing the body open. Other than neatness though, there isn't a need to have the cut done perfect since the Koni bolts through the bottom... the left over "body" is just along for the ride. |
Does Home Depot rent them big enough? I'm 99% sure I saw pipe cutters for rent when I rented a sawzall a few weeks ago.

dont use the HF pipe cutter, I ended up returning it and just using the sawzall.

Yeah, hack saw is just as effective albeit a touch slower. Did yellows in my old SRT-4.

Just use a fine file afterwards to clean up the cut.
