I am pretty pissed because it is unlikely they will be able to match the color with rest of the vehicle. Now i am pretty pissed :mad0260:

STOP! Go and see the damage and get a picture of it for yourself! Your definition and theirs of "slight damage," may be miles a part!
( I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune.)

i had my oil changed at a local dealership that has Valet parking. i got called up to pick up my car and it wasnt there for me (no big deal)

after about ten minutes of standing around i went looking in the parking lot for my car. found it, with the Valet Driver stalling it, he didnt know how to put it in reverese and he was inches from hitting the wall... i took the keys from him and drove off.

we just had a local Ford Dealership take a Mustang out for a test drive for the customer (young kid driving) and ended up wrecking it,

i would deff go over there ASAP and see the damage, i wouldnt settle for anything less than perfect since its there fault. if the paint doesnt match after the fix, dont be afraid to say something!

Just posted these pics on the WRB thread. Here is my "problem" Not a huge deal, but it is literally driving me nuts. Body shop has been AMAZING (as I have already said)

And blend in the sun….looks dead on until you walk to the side of the car on the seam, then it shows quite a bit.

I might be crazy, but I'm nearly positive the color has darkened since it was first painted (drying? paint smell is now gone from the garage). Not a lot, but it has.

That second re-paint is much much better than first.

I would make them give me a brand new FR-S :D

My car will not be fixed till June 13th. I will most likely file a complain with Toyota canada.

WhiteFRS69 05-30-2014 08:47 PM

got any pics????

Muaddib 05-30-2014 08:53 PM

The pic does not capture the severity of the damage. I will take some better pics this weekend.

And no hassle if something gets messed up? Most people dont have/live near a dealership like yours(it sounds darn good-which is how they ALL should be). How many threads on here have we seen where the customer requests no car wash, but instead gets washed and comes back covered in scratches? Usually the dealer responds with *shrugged shoulders.

For me, anyway its not worth the potential headache that the dealership is gonna cause.

But thats just my opinion! Sounds like you have a reputable, quality dealership, though.

You think that employee represents toyota?? You think he can speak on behalf of Toyota also? Do you think toyota is paying out of pocket for the repairs or the dealership?

As for the rest of what you bold of my comment.. Yes do your own work, all your services.. Keep, receipts don't keep receipts, the. Have a engine failure... Bring it in and see how easy it is for a replacement.. No doubt they will eventually replace it, but me bringing it in for all the services and maintenance records and all.. Guess who gets handled easier..

As a ASE tech it's easy to do my own work, but under warranty I take my car to the dealership.. Have I had bad experiences.. Yup d!ck Poe Toyota in El Paso sucks balls.. But it's recorded and Toyota knows about it..

When I worked at a dealership for ford, centroplex ford in Killeen tx, my pay check didn't say FordMoCo.. It said centroplex on them.. Signed by dan green, not mr ford lol.. Saying Toyota fucked the car up just isn't exactly correct.. He should've said the dealership did.. Just as d!ck Poe did a shitty service by using a STP filter from autozone, that wasn't toyota..

I also ask about techs, find out who are enthusiast and such and talk with them.. Befriend them I guess, same with Suzuki for my GSXR, I made sure I found a dealership that hired racers and others that care before I took my bike in..

But I don't blame people one bit for not wanting to take their cars into the dealership.. I wouldn't take mine in for the gaskets, or the crickets until I know for sure they fixed the problem.. We have a guy that's replaced it 6 times.. Still has them.. That's 6 repairs that to me are unnessacery.. Could've ended like the guys that burned down after a HPFP replacement..

So I understand where your coming from except the Toyota blame..

Had minor accident. Dealer matched my paint perfectly and did phenomenal body work. Raven.

All dealerships are independently owned. They are not owned by Toyota. If something happens to the car on their watch, they file an insurance claim.. not a claim with Toyota.

If they did it at the dealership and it's a replaceable part (bumper, trunk lid, door etc.), make them get a factory painted one and replace it.
