Are You the #1 Pre-order At the Dealer With No ETA/VIN?
 

So I figured I'd start a thread for all the folks like myself who were the #1 pre order at their dealer but still don't have a VIN/ETA. This is like a BRZ support group/poll! We're all a bit antsy but this could give some insight into what's a "rare" combo

I'll be getting a call on Thursday from SoA. Hopefully it'll contain my VIN! Been told by my dealer that my car is apart of their first allocation they're getting. We shall see!

It seems like Galaxy Blue and the Red are rare.

The dealership's allotment matters too. If the dealership is only getting a couple cars, it may be a month or two until their first one arrives.

My dealer is getting is getting 8. That seems like a lot for the east coast.

They told me they were allocated 11.

I email SoA a few minutes ago with my VON and complained about the service of Cherry Hill. Two different salesman gave me different dates. Also one call from them since my order and that was to tell my price would be announced at NY car show....

My salesman said end of May, but sounded iffy. The other guy said they are getting delayed and Sid August... He sounded pretty sure...

Called around today to see what other dealers close by are doing (including mine) and some are not taking pre-orders, it will be first come first serve, some know how many they are getting with all allocations sold, and my dealer does not know how much BRZ's they are getting :-S and have 4 pre-orders.

They told me they were allocated 3.

Just because you're the number 1 preorder doesn't mean you will get your car in the first shipment. It depends if they ordered any cars with your color and trim. Someone that's numbers 2,3,4,5,6,7 could get their cars before you if they got lucky and ordered the same color and trim that the dealership ordered awhile back.

1st of 7. My dealer said all they are showing is "June", no details beyond that. I either have 2-5 weeks left to wait. :(

My other car needs tires ASAP. I was going to hold off, but I think I will be buying this weekend with the sales going on. Better safe than sorry 4 1/2 weeks from now still driving on worn out shoes. If I had an actual date, I could make more informed decisions.

Dealer ordering system opened up for PRE SOLD cars (with deposit) on 3/1. Many of us got our orders in then, especially those first at their dealer. The dealers weren't allowed to order non-sold cars at that time. (ie dealer stock)
