2014 brz headunit

So I'm about to replace my 2014 brz limited headunit for a aftermarket one. That said, if I try to sell the stock HU, do I need to include the gps antenna or will I need that for my new HU. Also, what's a fair price.

Thank you.

fair price? pull your pockets out of your pants. see that lint that fell out? that's roughly the fair price.. audio equipment isn't worth very much..

also i wouldn't recommend selling it at all.. all it takes is one moron who can't pay attention to their stop sign, and the car is totaled..

the car needs to be complete for the insurance company, so you can either loose out on the aftermarket radio and leave it in, or reinstall the oem radio and at least still get some use out of the aftermarket unit you just paid for that has little to no resale value..

That makes no sense... compete for the insurance company? Why would you lose out on anything at all? The insurance company will cover aftermarket audio equipment as long as you notify them and keep receipts. I have aftermarket parts coverage on my insurance.

BTW, your insurance covers you if you're at fault. If you're not at fault, the other person's insurance company is supposed to cover ALL property damage, aftermarket or not. This includes soiled/damaged clothing, items in the car that flew around and broke, aftermarket parts, etc. ProTip: if your'e ever in an accident that's not at fault, get a lawyer, the other insurance company will always try to screw you for the lowest cost possible, such as giving you only trade-in value for your car instead of FMV.

OP,

Unless you want to remove the GPS antenna, I'd just leave it in and get an adapter if needed to hook it up to your aftermarket HU. That being said, the price you can get may differ if you include/don't include the GPS antenna. The new aftermarket HU should come with a GPS antenna as well, so depending on the connection, you MAY be able to just include that one instead of worrying about removing your stock one.
