GTech SS / RR Performance Data Accuracy

What up.

Went out and did a few base line pulls with my BRZ last night.
Right off the bat, I should say that I am probably running this thing in the worst conditions possible, as I am at 5200 ft and the ambient temp is around 95-105 F.
My oil temp is almost never below the magical 220 mark.

The settings I used were 3003 lbs, 21.52 sq.ft and 0.27 cw.
Drivetrain losses 15% (doesn't matter though, as I am looking at the uncorrected data.

Well, here's what I got.
92 and 102 whp. Got the 92 twice and the 102 once, when the car was still at about 195 F oil temp. So it would seem, that the car truly does pull timing quite a bit once above 220.

With all that said, what are you guys getting for power using the GTech?

Also did a few 1/4 mile passes and with horrible 60 ft times due to low grip on dusty MX roads the best I could muster (above 220 oil temp for all pulls) was 16.75 @ 87 mph.

Putting those numbers into a drag racing calculator brings me to 154 Hp crank.
Assuming that 10% power was lost due to hot oil, that would be 171 Hp crank.
Given the horrible air up here, that doesn't seem far off at all.

So seeing how most stock 200 Hp BRZs get 150 ish wheel hp on a dyno, that's a 25% loss, which is unheard of compared to all the domestic cars I'm used to, I guess the 102 are kind of reasonable for the conditions... maybe?

This is my first attempt of using a GTech and I bought it as a lap timer, but I would like to document the gains I get from the KW blower - hence the baseline runs :)

sounds like the D.A. was probably close to 10,000ft... yup.. its gonna be a turd.

Pretty much. lol

That all sounds about right to me.

I know going up Vail Pass in Colorado was quite painful with the drop in power plus not being able to rev it high due to my break in period. Elevation is killer!

I love the G-Tech. The RR function is killer and the main reason I got this thing, but like I said, it would be cool to document my mods using it to show power gains.
Will be interesting for sure, as the blower should still deliver decent numbers, even at altitude.
