An idea...
If I wanted too... Could I put a big turbo onto a stock brz and out an EBC on it... Now... I would then lower the boost to an acceptable level for the engine to Handel until I could then afford to have the engine redone to support full boost?
I want the supercharger.... But I want to eventually have my 400+ brz... And a turbo.... And a turbo that will produce my horsepower..... Thoughts...? Thanks, AJ |
few things to address. you wont need a super duper 90mm turbo. anything in the level of a 2867 from garret will do you just fine for that hp level. the transient response from the compression 12.5:1 helps with the so called "turbo lag".
pump gas is fine for limited boost, like 8-10psi. Use dat corn gas for the higher up boost requirements. things to worry about would be tranny gears and axles and clutch depending on how long you would be running at 400 whp. rebuilding the engine with forged internals effectively lowering the compression will actually net less hp per psi than the stock compression, meaning you'll need to run moar boost to reach the same power goals. As long as you get a proper tune, you should be fine for a while before you need to replace things like the drive shaft and beef up the tranny and diff. |
