Trading in frs for 2012 Subaru wrx?

As the title states. Looking to get something a little more practical that will still be fun to drive. Opinions?

Go Cobb Stg 1 if you do (at minimum). I just traded a 2011 WRX hatch for a 2015 WRX. If you go 2011 or newer you get the STI wide body style.

Its a comfy car and can be crazy fast 0-60. Personally I way prefer the hatch from those years.

I would prefer the hatch as well. But a local dealer just brought in a pearl white sedan. Don't think I'll be able to resist.

Take into account the difference in gas mileage. The WRX gets 22mpg at best, while our car gets 22mpg at its worst.

I personally would not get a WRX, but that's because I have a long commute.

On the flip side, having four doors is great, the extra power and torque is wonderful, and you'll be able to drive it all year round with the utmost confidence.

Check out the GLI's. I traded my BRZ for one. I enjoyed the BRZ more. However this suits my families needs and I don't have assholes revving at me at stop lights. The low end torque is awesome.

i made the jump to 2014 WRX (same as 2012) after my FR-S was totaled for the same reason really, practicality. four doors, AWD, better ground clearance. the downside is the mpg as i average like 20 instead of the 26ish i was getting with my FR-S and i have a pretty long commute. i still fill up once a week like i did with the FR-S (WRX has a bigger tank), just the total is usually about $10-15 more. ultimately though, i don't have any regrets. as much as i loved having the FR-S as a DD, the WRX just makes a little more sense to me in the long term. good luck with the decision!

also another extremely minor downside is that now i'm on the NASIOC forums more than these and the more i use them, the more i miss ft86club lol. these forums just look nicer and are just so much easier to navigate. NASIOC doesn't allow signatures or avatars, no @ mentioning, no thanking posts and you don't get any notifications when someone quotes you.

Why not! Great upgrade! Been playing with this idea myself. Thankfully, I don't need to much practicality, but I would love to get in to one.

Well I did it. Signing papers now and I'll be driving my perp white 2012 wrx home today. Pretty excited. Will definitely miss the frs though.
