The BRZ is magnificent.

Wrote an article for Rallyways.com on the BRZ. After several thousand miles of ownership, I was finally able to put her through her paces in the mountain roads of NC and VA.

Oh and before you guys say anything, I just realized that the Whiteline camber bolts aren't SCCA Street Class legal, and will be replaced with OEM crash bolts whenever I feel like it.

Next month, I plan to join a group of Miatas on a 3 day trip through the mountains of NC, including the Tail of the Dragon. Should be fun!

I hope you guys enjoy reading it.

I would love to get a chance to drive it like that.. All I do is drive to work and the gas station lol. Great read.

Good article, and a few more roads for me to target!

Me too. This is the way I feel, LOL. Sometimes I feel like I could pick just about any car to purchase based on looks. As long as the suspension isn't terrible, the subtleties of many cars are lost on boring straight road drives to home and work - sspecially when that commute is only 3.5 miles each way. LOL

You guys should take up autocrossing! It's a waste of a perfectly good sportscar if all it does are mundane commutes.

Thats why im bummed when I imagine moving. There are so many empty twisty canyon roads to enjoy nearby.

The one thing that really had me reluctant about going “maximum attack” on the corners were the stock Michelin Primacy HP tires (also found on UK spec Priuses).

First off, thanks for the great articles, they've been a joy to read!

I'm sure you've probably already taken this into account, but I'd imagine a better set of tires would help it turn substantially quicker. A set of PSSs transformed the steering on mine (though to be fair, I went from the Primacies, to snows, and then to PSSs).

Given your area, I also highly recommend US 250 from Stuanton, VA to Huttonsville, WV, or thereabouts. I did that in lieu of the Dragon last year, and wasn't the slightest bit disappointed (the elevation changes are amazing... and quick).

I had a set of PSS on my NC for a street setup. I loved them. I'm planning on getting a set of 17x7 RPF1s and 225 PSS on the BRZ in the near future.

Nice read.
One thing though, the BRZ steering is electrically assisted but you still have a physical connection from the steering wheel as can be seen here :

I though the same until I saw this post

I enjoyed reading it word for word, thanks for the review on our cars. I'm loving my car even more!

After reading this makes me wish my car was out of the shop even more. Great review!

I sold my old NC MX5 for the BRZ. At the time, I felt that the BRZ was a compromise car, as I needed the room.
Never thought I'd hear someone say they purchased an 86 for the room

Hahahaha I wanted a RWD sportscar with a little more room. The NC wasn't cutting it in that department.
