Sucking sound upon throttle after Magnaflow Catback install
 

Just installed a Magnaflow catback system. Now, there is a slight hesitation and sucking sound when sharply pressing the throttle. Other than that, the car seems to be running fine. Any thoughts as to what might be causing this?

Do you mean the initial "chug" inhaling sound when you hit the throttle?

It had crossed my mind that the sound may have been there before the Magnaflow install, but I was unable to hear it because I was running a muffler delete. I still have doubts about that though.

Really? Are there any videos of other twins making this sound? I have never heard the sound, or heard anyone talking about the sound.

Mine is stock and makes that noise. I also drove a Celica GTS and when we put a CAI on it, it REALLY made that sound. It sounded like one of those speedy loud flushing toilets.

Incidentally, I lucked into this Magnaflow catback today for $200. Dude took it off his BRZ and threw it on Craigslist. I snatched it up with the quickness. :party0030:

Yup, totally normal

Because it's normal on pretty much every vehicle.

I find I notice sounds more right after I do a mod to the car mostly just because I am paranoid and looking for something/anything..

Oh no! You mean the intake is audibly sucking in air? KILL IT WITH FIRE!

I've never had a car make such a pronounced and percussive intake noise. I think I might have to sell the car now.
