How to Collect Used Oil Samples for Lab Analysis | Video

COLLECTING OIL FOR LAB ANALYSIS
Commonly referred to as UOA (Used Oil Analysis)

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pR5sGDELfCY"]How to Send Used Oil for Analysis | UOA VLOG - YouTube[/ame]

Purpose:

To help collect data about our motors and transmission from forum users. When people send in samples we find out what is normal wear and shows how well oils hold up compared to other motors.

Benefits:
Sending in used oil samples from trans and motor will help you get information on your engines health and how long you can run your oil before you have to change it.

You can get a free collection kit here:

http://www.blackstone-labs.com/free-test-kits.php

When completed please post up your emailed analysis from the PDF.

The report will look like this:

WHY DO YOU CARE?

I don't care if you pour the oil all over your body, but would like to see more users contribute data that can help everyone learn more about the platform.

Okay. Here's mine that I just got back this past week. By the way, I bought the pump to collect the oil through the dipstick tube so that I don't have to worry about catching it out the bottom.

By the way, there's actually another thread like this:

I haven't read all the way through it, so I don't know how many people actually contributed.

Great write up, this prompted me to find a suitable company here in Australia to do some UOA on my oil.

As noted elsewhere, it isn't the type of driving you do that 'hurts' the oil, it is more the humidity, dust, and short city type trips that hurt it. The track sessions are fine for oil.
