I know guys that have painted cars/trucks in their garage, and got magazine features, and lots of awards.

Properly cut coils work great, just as good as drop springs. Cut too much, or heat them, and you have junk.

Tacky and overdone.

Which raises the question: if I don't race my car, but I put on awesome racing stuff like coilovers or track pipes or super ultra light racing wheels with 140TW tires, is it rice?

I think the true definition of "rice" is a mod that someone else doesn't like, or a mod that goes against the "norm".

I blame the internet. Hiding behind a keyboard and calling stuff "rice", has created a bit of fear, and slowed creativity among many, for fear of being called a "ricer".
