Driving with no front sway bar
 

Upgraded to RCE yellows, and front end-links were completely seized (all 4 bolts) from 2 winters. Destroyed the links with vice grips/pipe wrenches but did get them off. New ones on order but backordered until next week. It's on jackstands right now waiting for me to put in the header but would like to drive it this weekend.

Will normal city driving be ok, no super hard cornering or would having a disconnected front bar really only be noticable on autox-track?

You'll notice it, but the car won't self destruct or anything. Just take it easy and be careful cornering hard (back end may want to come out). I wouldn't worry about driving it like a normal person.

Google returns say you can do this; however, you're going to notice the "roll" of the vehicle. I say for your safety, those around you, and most importantly your 86 that you just hang tight and get everything right before taking her for a drive.

(Worked for the government my whole career and have had the whole "safety first" thing rammed through my skull... Thus my taking this stance!)

It will still handle better than a lot of other cars I see on my daily commute. ;)

it will be very prone to oversteer, but it wont hurt anything. I pull front sway bars on trucks a lot and it just makes them tail happy.

How about unhooking the rear bar, to get rid of the oversteer, if that is a concern? body roll will increase, but it's just for a week or so.

Id be concerned about that much body roll on stock narrow tires. Just dtive it and be mindful

hah, that is the shit part about the salt belt. Everything seizes or at least gets hard to remove. and because endlinks have that retarded hex key design even if you can get the nut loose a lot of the time you strip that hole.

I wish they could make a better design, at least they aren't that expensive to replace and you can use vice grips to get the off if the strip.

^^ recommend Perrins front end links. Beefy. And can use on stock front sway

I dont see how this is even a big deal, front will have more roll but more grip, rear will be the same. Its not like the car is a death trap with handling.
